Lorne snippets

I don't know where to put these things and making a new topic for every time he's just asked for a single opinion seems a bit excessive. So I'm making this topic for those kind of moments.

Here are some of his recent thoughts on Project Natal:
:

Lorne Lanning Game designer, cofounder Oddworld Inhabitants

Reaction “When I see that stuff, the games is where I have the least amount of excitement. What’s much more interesting is when you start playing with that technology to manage information, like basic Web browsing or navigating Facebook.”

Game Concept “If I wanted to use this in a game, it would be in iRacing, where professional race car drivers are learning new tracks. It’s the World of Warcraft of professional racing. If it used Project Natal and you leaned during racing, that should affect the physics on the rest of the car.”
He really likes that game does he not?
On the other hand I agree in the sense that there's more potential for Natal tech in personal computing. It should free up some of the constraints we have due to the lack of a keyboard and mouse for the TV.

I'd sure love an Oddworld game for the Wii. Imagine a Fallout 3 style game, but set on Oddworld. Wouldn't that just be so cool?!

That quote is incomprehensible. I have no idea what he's trying to suggest.

I haven't played Fallout 3. Is it anything like Fallout 2?

not at all gameplay wise...

I'm not sure I understand either what Lorne is trying to say there.

Do I have to explain the damned thing?
:

Reaction “When I see that stuff, the games is where I have the least amount of excitement. What’s much more interesting is when you start playing with that technology to manage information, like basic Web browsing or navigating Facebook.”

That's his reaction to Project Natal. He's saying you could use it to, say, swish your fingers through the air and make it scroll down a web page. He's saying you could do more with your body than play games, and that's what he's excited about.

Now, here, he's saying that he wants to use Project Natal for iRacing. He wants to see a racing game where you grip an imaginary steering wheel and you lean to the side and it actually affects the physics on the rest of the car.

Hope this cleared things up :)
