~ CINDERELLA AND THE ROYAL BALL

Once there was a girl named Cinderella.

She lived in a hut on the edge of the Woods, with her Stepmother, and her two Stepsisters, who were one ugly and one fat, and she wore a cobwebby blue dress.

One day, a Royal Ball was to be held in the Palace. The whole family was invited, but the Stepmother made Cinderella stay home to wash the dishes, and sweep the floor, and repaint the front porch.

Poor Cindy. She sat in the kitchen after the others had left and cried, tears dripping onto her cobwebby blue dress.

And as she cried, there was a sparkling noise, and a light flashed. And there was Cindy's Hairy Godmother! Er, cough, Fairy that is. Her Fairy Godmother!

"Oh!" said Cindy. "Oh! Oh! OH! OH!!"

"Yes," said the Fairy Godmother. "I am your Hairy Godmother. Err, Fairy, I mean. Your Fairy Godmother. Now tell me Cindy, why are you crying?"

"Well," spluttered the stricken Cinderella, "it's because the others have gone of to the Royal Ball and I don't get to go and it's really MEAN!"

"Don't worry!" said the Fairy Godmother. "I can help you get to the Royal Ball."

"You CAN?" said Cindy. "How? How? HOW? HOW?!"

"With just a wave of my magic wand," said the Hairy - er, Fairy - Godmother.

"Your MAGIC WAND?" cried Cindy, dubious.

"Yes," snapped the Fairy Godmother.

"Oh!" said Cindy. "Oh! Oh! OH! OH!!"

The Fairy Godmother waved her magic wand.

There was a sparkle, and a flash,

And Cindy's

cobwebby

blue

dress

fell off...


AND was replaced by no less than a

CRYSTAL GLASS DRESS.

"Oh!" said Cindy. "Oh! Oh! OH! OH!!"

The Hairy - um, Fairy - Godmother smiled. "Now you cannot fail to charm the Prince!" she said.

So, Cindy set off for the Royal Ball. She walked up the steps. She went in at the door.

The Prince was dancing with the Ugly Stepsister, but he dropped her when he saw Cindy.

"Oh!" said he. "Oh! Oh! OH! OH!!"

And he whisked her off to his chamber,

where she was acquainted with the Royal Balls.


In the morning, she went home...

BUT...

she forgot her dress! She left it in the Prince's bedchamber!


Now, all the next day the Prince thought about the girl in the Crystal Glass Dress.

He decided he wanted to marry her.

So, he posted a sign on the noticeboard in the village supermarket:

"WANTID: WUN PRINCES WOT HAZ A CRYSTAL GLASS DRESS"


He was to try the dress on all the ladies in the kingdom, to see whom it fitted.

So, the Ugly Stepsister took the Crystal Glass Dress and stepped into the changing room.

She changed into it.

She emerged.

The Prince SCEEAAMED.


Next the Fat Stepsister tried on the dress.

... the Prince SCEEAAMED again.


So, now it was Cindy's turn to try on the dress.

She went into the changing room.

She put on the dress.

BUT OH NOES THE FAT STEPSISTER HAD STRETCHED IT


It was too big for her now.


Luckily, once the Prince saw her wearing the Crystal Glass Dress, he didn't mind that it was too big for her.


And "Oh!" they said together. "Oh! Oh! OH! OH!! OOHH!!!!"

...Ummm, what? You have replaced the glass shoe in Cinderella with a dress. Congratulations. You also made a balls joke. Well done. But I really don't understand what your intentions were.

Neither do I, it's okay. It's not supposed to make sense, or be funny, so it's all good.

Don't like to crush your inner dude, but... then why did you post it here?

Because I was tired and I thought it was a good thing to do.

Ah, we've all been there.

I was internally amused when it turned out to be a crystal dress instead. And that she forgot it. How can you forget to bring back what you're wearing? And aren't crystals transparent?

I think that's the point, dear.
