don't care what anyone says, fucking love The Pogues, and this is the worlds best Christmas song. i mean he's the symbolism of 'fucked out your skull', which is what Christmas is all about!

and this one for good measure;

Seriously. This song is awesome.

Mac Sirloin 12-14-2009 12:15 PM

I know that my least favorite Christmas song is Alice Cooper's Buttfuck-retarded rendition of Santa Claus is coming to town.

Otherwise probably the Bob And Doug Mckenzie version or The 12 Days of Christmas.

OddjobAbe 12-14-2009 12:21 PM

I love that Slade one, and I really love The Pogues (I have fucking loads on tape and CD). Other than that, I really like "Stop the Cavalry", and "Driving Home for Christmas".

Christmas Time is Here from the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

The embarrassing thing is that it took until the third or fourth time listening to this song before I realised what it was about.

Yeah, I'm not much for modern christmas songs. I do love the classic carols like Good King Wenceslas, Tidings of Comfort and Joy, and Carol of the Bells. I also listen to the Edward Scissorhands score religiously around the holidays. Oh, Elfman, you have created such a celeste-heavy, Wagnarian playground for me in which to frolic merrily.

Carol of the Bells

I love Carol of the Bells. I never listen to it for the melody or anything. It's too repetetive for that. I just really like the sound of the chimes and the organ.

Have you ever tried listening to a chorus perform it?

OddjobAbe 12-15-2009 07:07 AM

No, but I shall have to. It sounds like it would be nice.

Yeah, should be more interesting with the words.

While we''re on the topic of carols, my favorites are Carol of the Bells, Emmanuel, Silent Night, God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, Masters in this Hall, Pat-a-Pan, and Fum, Fum, Fum, and the Huron Carol.

abe is now! 12-15-2009 07:21 AM

Jingle Bells (Sex Pistols's version)

MeechMunchie 12-15-2009 09:29 AM

Ho Ho Fucking Ho.
And though I don't particularly like the song, as soon as the keyboard kicks in in All I Want For Christmas (Is You), you know it's Christmas.

Crashpunk 12-15-2009 09:56 AM

I love Ho Ho Fucking Ho i used in my one of my Videos.

(Give it a chance to get to the first chorus)

I also really like this song.

I know that most of you won't listen to much of the song, but at least listen up to the sheep section. That woman has the most beautiful voice ever.
