Introduction

Hey guys, I thought I'd write this up to help people with secrets, walkthroughs and cheats to AO and AE - I will begin.

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is the first Oddworld game available for the Playstation one and the PC.

Cheats

Level Select - On the start screen: Hold R1 and press Down, Right, Left, Right, Square, Circle, Square, Right, Left.

FMV's - On the start screen punch in: R1, Up, Left, Right, Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Right, Left, Up, Right

Tips

Tip #1 - As you progress further into the game sligs become more and more trigger happy, expect to have to shoot as quickly as possible!

Tip #2 - Watch out for Mudokons shout Look out (L2 + Circle) before shooting!

Tip #3 - If you are near a sloghut advance slowly and be ready to tap circle or if your abe, run. More than one slog will come out almost always, these slogs cannot be controlled by your slig and obviously Abe cannot chant them.

Tip #4 - Only Sligs can be chanted!

Secret Areas (in order)

Area 1 - On the first screen of Rupture Farms, by the barrels, simply walk over and crouch by them, you will then slide down a hidden hole and a mystical sound will play to confirm you have entered.

Area 2 - is the big barrel next to the sleeping guard. When he
wakes up POSSESS him. Make him run the the right until he can
kill the other sleeping guard by the elevator. Yell "LOOK OUT"
for extra fun then waste him when he wakes up.

Area 3 - is where you pull the lever to open the trap door and
make the SLIG fall in. After you dispatch the SLIG pull the
lever again and JUMP into the hole before the trap door shuts.
This is tricky and may require several attempt. If you donot believe me note that nothing occours usually associated with death by falling (shaken screen, help, help, help, etc). When the SLIG falls in you hear him say
WHAT? instead of a death cry indicating there is something below.

Area 4 - The rope, pull it and run down the open hole before it closes, you can run down it and jumping isn't neccesary. - Basically same as above except there's no slig.

Area 5 - Near the end of the level on that long elevator. Go to the top with
a grenade.
Get in the middle of the ledge and crouch and throw grenade to the
right. That should kill the guard sleep on the small ledge. Ride
down to make sure then go back up and JUMP off to the right. You'll
land on the ledge. Duck and roll CAREFULLY into the next room.
Make you way past the grinders. Standing jump for the first one and
a timed ROLL through the other 2. There are 3 mudokons passed the grinders.

I think this is all for Abe's Oddysee

Endings WARNING! SPOILER

Save less than 50 mudokons and you will recieve the bad ending, Abe is killed by a meat grider while being watched by a laughing Molluck the Glukkon and his assisstant (Molluck's Assistant you arse how dare you)!

Saving 50 to 98 mudokons, you recieve the good ending in which Abe is saved and Molluck is zapped by lightning, you return to Monsaic Sanctum and are hled as a hero, you fart and laugh.

Saving 99 mudokons will get you the same as above but you will recieve a chat code for FMV's.

Nading help

Grenades really used to annoy me so here's help for everyone.

Tip #1 - Grenades bleep 5 times before they explode on the sixth.

Tip #2 - Circle to prime and ^ throws in the air, you won't die though
Tip #3 - > Throws far right
Tip #4 - < Throws far left
Tip #5 - v Thorws down, run or it will kill you via explosion
Tip #6 - crouched down does the same but the distances are 1/4ered
Tip #7 - No matter how far you run from a nade even a few screens, the explosion still bowls you over, to combat this jump at the explosion or simply crouch down, you can also jump on a ledge if available.

Random Tips

Tip #1 - Scrabs also catch you up...eventually =o
Tip #2 - Sligs can make single slogs obey.
Tip #3 - Paramites and Scrabs take 4-5 seconds to eat meat if they are single, I don't know if times differ if there are more.

Sligs trigger-happiness varies, as does the delay before they turn, I believe.

maybe it should be in help and sorry for the spoilers but I'm sure you guys have already known most of this? Anyway very good to have some views! =)

you do that and I don't understand to everyone else, i'm just trying to help people who maybe need help! So I shouldn't waste my time bothering to do AE then?

Scrabtrapman, you effort is commendable, but all this information can be found in places people are more likely to look. Once this thread gets pushed off the first page, who's going to find it? People generally don't use the search feature, and even if they did, what searches would lead here?

Everything you've written is good, it's just not likely to provide much help here.

I always use the search feature. However, I've noticed that the first time you search it says "no results" and takes you to the full Advanced Search page, from where it works.

And Scrabtrap, it is good. It's just there's plenty of complete walkthroughs already.
