I don't care for anime characters. To me all characters in the anime world world look under 18 years old, so it is a little hard to distinguish between them. But I don't think you've watched as much Anime so naturally you notice the questionable traits a lot easier. But for me it's all a big mess of weirdness, so it's become a little hard over the years.

I'm not twisting your intentions. I saw you were making a joke, so I made one. As the conversation deepened it became less about what you said, and more about the state of a certain genre of animation. I don't give a fuck how old you say that the person is, if you draw pictures of people with the bodies of children in a sexual light, you are a pedophile. I couldn't care less if that is the norm. That only makes it worse.

You talk as if drawing small children in a sexual way wasn't a staple of the anime genre. It isn't just that it's common in the fanfics. It's just plain common. That's disturbing. Can I say that I was deeply affected by that picture? No. I will say again that those who draw such things and then claim that they are pictures of adults aren't fooling anyone. Well, anyone who isn't a professed anime fan, that is.

Yea but there are people who have petite bodies too... Anyway I just want you to know that I didn't in any look at that picture and register it as a kid and then think 'hot' ... In fact i didn't find the picture hot at all. I don't generally find drawn characters hot so it's all the same to me, although I have accidentally stumbled across drawn images of... Stuff like that and my reaction was something close to puking, ok?

Anime is just too vague. I saw an Anime once where the character looked 12 but shockingly I found out later they were supposed to be 17 or 16...
The thing I'm trying to point out here is that even though the characters look young, in reality they aren't meant to be.. And traveling the world of Anime enough will sort of desensitize you to these factors.. Just like traveling the Internet enough will desensitise you to the word "rape", sexual jokes and whatever...

Is it a bad thing? probably. But I still don't find any of it hot. I just don't get shocked by too much anymore... And Looking at a pic for a second or so isn't enough to determine what it is classified as. I saw long hair, a dress and then whoop!.. a dick.. I was like 'x_x'... And decided to to make a joke about it. Maybe to loosen to atmosphere in my own mind. I don't know.

I didn't say it was a picture of an adult, you'd have to be quite blind to think that, and I only think Nikki claimed it couldn't have been because you two took eachother a little too seriously and she felt backed into a corner.

I am very aware of a subset of anime and manga draws young children in sexually charged situations and that it is called Lolicon and Shotacon, it's quite weird but I wouldn't call it pedophilic, I mean my favourite anime (Neon Genesis Evangelion) involves quite a fair bit of nudity and sexually charged situations involving fourteen year olds and that's quite universally aknowledged as art, first off because it's done for a reason. I am also vaguely aware that some forms of hentai center around pedophilia. I don't like hentai. That's sick.

I may take it lighter than you prefer.. But I still stand by my words that I did not see that image as a child mainly because I didn't really look at it much. Believe it or don't, but it's the truth.
In all honesty I saw it as a crossdressing person... Which is what I was joking about. I hope you realize this.

That's not what I meant though. I don't think it's ok. That one image slipped my radar is one thing. I was trying to tell you that I agree. People usually draw really young characters and give them older ages which disturbs my mind.

But in any case. This is just one of the many things that just get mingled in to this big mass of carelessness. People joke about rape as if it's nothing... People joke about murder as if it's nothing. People are at some point bound to take this issue too lightly too unless something changes... And unless people become more decent.
