Bluetooth headache.

Does anybody else who uses a Bluetooth headset for gaming or anything else ever get headaches? I do for gaming, and I've tried three different types of Bluetooth headsets, they all give me headaches!

I don't use bluetooth. Couldn't say.

Never used a bluetooth headset, maybe it's the teeth in your ears?

Leto 10-24-2009 12:26 PM

It could be the things inside your ears (if they are earbud type bluetooth dongles), or it could just be the fact that something receiving wireless signal is sitting right beside your brain.

I get the same with cellphones. if they're receiving signal and they're on my belly/leg/arm, the area it is sitting on feels sick.

How does your leg feel sick? If you mean that it feels slightly odd and sore, have you ever heard of our friend Mister Psychosomatic?

As for the OP, have you considered turning down the volume somewhat?

i knew someone would catch me out, and i don't know how to explain it other than that area feels sick. it isn't sore, but it does feel slightly odd. as if it was sick. kind of like a cramp?

My brother is a 'spiritual healer'. I know from experience that when he does his mumbo jumbo and claims to be focusing on a particular part of my body, it tends to tingle - even though I'm a complete skeptic.

It's a normal, if strange, psychological reaction.

Leto 10-24-2009 10:36 PM

i'm all over that shit, my mum's a crystal healer.

it is indeed a psychological reaction, that i can control at will. as in, if i'm thinking about a murder show, where a dude gets his jugular cut, my throat will tingle. makes me think of the psychology behind stigmata

My brother did crystals for a while. He's had so many religions in the last five years that I lose track of them all.

My step-mother also has crystals, but she uses them to predict the future.

Why do all of the smart people here have such batshit insane families?
No offense, of course.

Fun fact about humans: Because we constanty have cellphone rays and microwaves and other such things going through us, when we make contact with an isolated people in like, haiti, a ton of thme die because we're so irradiated.

Nate 10-25-2009 04:04 PM

Except that we don't ingest radioactive materials that would continue to release radiation. Once the electromagnetic waves hit our bodies, they're absorbed and don't hang around to infect innocent Haitians.

As for your first question; are the dumb people's families not also batshit insanse? I just figure that that is part of having a family.

At some point I really have to talk to my mum about her acupuncture. It's really bugging me.

Nate 10-26-2009 05:13 AM

I think you're meant to pull the needles out after the session is over...

Jokes aside, I don't understand acupuncture but it seems to have fairly wide acceptance within Western medicine these days.

OANST 10-26-2009 06:41 AM

If anyone is going to stick a needle in me it had better have heroin in it, am i right?

Bullet Magnet 10-26-2009 08:01 AM

There's no positive effect from acupuncture than cannot be reproduced by random placement of the needles (as opposed to the specific points traditionally required) or even just a massage.

Acupuncture itself is supposed to work by blocking and redirecting the flow of "ki" energy through the body, evidence that whoever decided that had no idea what energy really is.

Mind over BM.

I think it's the former, because this...

The Jabra has an earbud that hurts, wow I hadn't even considered that using a bluetooth could be dangerous maybe I'll start using it less often.
