On the recently launched Xbox Australian website, Microsoft has revealed that the console's release there is sometime in early 2002, rather than the originally stated "late 2001" date. Since Australia is closer to Japan than Europe, it's likely that it will get the console on February 22 along with Japan, rather than the March 14 date. Australian pricing details have not be released yet. Xbox, Australian for games.

This is good news. I hope that the Xbox comes here sooner rather than later. It's rather irritating having to wait months after the North American release.

Why exactly does it take so long for other countries to get consoles?

that is a good question and the answer is ME! Those stingy bastiches know that i live here so they decide to give the box here last to make me suffer!
