World of Goo - Pay what you want!
You can see me (and others) pontificating about how brilliant World of Goo is in this thread here.
Now, to celebrate the year anniversary of its release, 2dBoy are selling the game for a 'Pay what you think it's worth' fee. You can pay as little as 1 cent US (the minimum payment) or as much as a million - and you get a full, legal copy of the game. If you haven't played it yet, now you have no excuse. This is one of the most imaginative, brilliant, fun games I've played in my life. Go out and buy it now. http://2dboy.com/games.php (Until Sunday the 25th of October). Also, commentary on the Pay What You Want model is available from 2dBoy themselves and from Rock, Paper, Shotgun. The results may surprise you. |
I had heard that it worked out well for them. I'm glad to hear it.
I definitely bought the game for a dollar. Not that I thought the game was only worth that, but it was all I was willing to spend on it. Twas a good sale indeed. A lot of people who never would have bought the game, or downloaded it illegally, actually paid for it.
Wait until you see what I'm willing to spend on your game.
Oh no! Oanst won't spend a penny on the game I'm developing! Wait... I already saw that coming. XD

I'm afraid I did miss the point. I reread it a few times, but I lack the ability to perceive what said point is.
Okay.
I have just got World of Goo for the low, low price of 1.50. This had better be a good game!

I don't know who this Strike Witch is, but I've had this avatar a couple years now. :/

Something else he missed.

Bought. I just hope that the download link that was given to me doesn't ever expire or stop working. I'd hate to fix my Linux and then have a rigamarole trying to get what I've already paid for. It wouldn't reflect well on digital distribution, although I admire 2D Boys greatly for what they're doing.
I have played this on Wii, but since I no longer live with that particular former housemate, I would like to play some more. In English this time, plox. |
Just got it. I love it. It's goo-licious.
I'd buy it for cheap, but I have no money.
If someone wants to put like 10$ into my Paypal account so I can buy this I'll pay you back. |
no problem. PM me on how you go about it, bud.
It's too hard for me
Bought. Just made it to world two.

Aha, Crayon finally stopped being just a demo. I gave up the wait. Not paying that much though.
I see it actually came out more than half a year ago. Well I gave up the wait before then. |
I played the demo of Crayon Physics. It just felt like it lacked polish; some of the levels were way too easy, some were way too hard and far too many of them were doing exactly the same thing. Plus, often enough the drawings just didn't behave as I expected them to.
And it costs too much. |
On the other hand, the music.
JelloCar, anyone?
come one, there are ways on the internet to not have to pay for things you silly munchkins.
Yes, but we are tactful and don't state this fact you daft woozle.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH I HAVE NO MONEY IN MY PAAAAAAYPAL
God i love World of Goo. I've been playing the Demo off theWii Shop Channel.
I Might buy it. |
Yeah I've been playing the demo. It's good. But I'm saving my money for the Oddbox :(
