The danish Xfactor was shitty and awful... They had all these interesting and talented people, yet this really annoying, boring girl won who wasn't even that good at singing... But for some reason people seemed to like her <_<
Probly cos she had a sobby background story or whatever.

I was simply stating that there are more constructive things to do rather than watch obnoxious twats go on television saying "Whoo, I can sing, listen, I'm really good!", be told "You're shit, fuck off" and then witness the same thing again.

I hate X-Factor. The auditions are mildy amusing, but when it all starts getting serious it just starts pissing me off. And when everyone starts screaming over some 16 year old boy... ugh. And the majority of the runners up get an album, 80% of the songs being High School Musical.

I know that it's cool to hate reality TV and think that only mindless jocks and bimbos watch it. I'm just trying to open your view a bit.

After using your brain a lot for 'constructive' things. Either school, work, creative activities or just reading a book or watching a movie. Sometimes one can need to just watch mindless crap to balance things out.

Personally, I just like people making a fool out of themselves on TV... it's my way or just turning off my brain and going with the flow.
Other people might do it by watching a cartoon, or watch Youtube Poop on the Internet.

Where I'm going with all this is that it's unfair of you to assume that only people who are 'pissed out of their skull'(whatever that means) watch that this kind of TV.

I mean the fact that you don't watch reality TV is fine. But it doesn't make you more sane, intellectual or clever because of it. You just have different tastes. I'm sure that you too do something less intelligent once in a while to cool off your brain, and in case you don't, you should try it.

Also this isn't meant personally so don't take it that way. It's just an interesting point I wanna talk about :)

I see your point, but it's my principles (and standards) that stop me from watching this stuff, not my tastes. I enjoy seeing unlikeable people humiliate themselves, but I don't see this show as anything other than a big freak show, which I believe is wrong. If someone makes a fool of themselves, that's fine. If someone goes on television thinking that they're good, and don't realise that they're humiliating themselves, and the presenters are aware that this will happen, I don't see it much less cruel than belittling people because they are fat or unattractive.

Although, at the end of the day, it's each to their own.

Personally, I don't see such a big problem with it, and the show does succeed in showing ok talent too at some points.

Australian X-Factor died in the arse because the judges kept on praising how wonderful the performers were live on stage and how well they interacted with the audience, but they were never coached on how to perform to the cameras or make it exciting for the home viewer. It got boring, fast, and people stopped watching it.

I mildly remember an Australian Xfactor. But it died. I just wish the same could happen to Idol.

Any more reality / talent shows? Really it's all just making cash out of complete twats, who think their good at something or want to be famous for a few months. I have no time for it.

Actually what really pisses me off about Reality TV, is that some bitch of a bimbo, or some mindless dude can go into such a show and earn 100.000$ per episode if not more.

Those shows have nothing to do with effort, skills or anything remotely worthless, yet the participants still get a shitload of money <.<
