This is an ex-parrot!*starts whacking dead parrot on counter*HELLO POLLY!!!!

Does anyone here like the surreal comedy troupe Monty Python?I love thier films and T.V show so much!WOOHOO!Monty Python!*insert the Monty Python theme song, liberty bell here.*I love their films,And Now For Something Completely Different,Monty Python and the Holy Grail,Life of Brian and Monty Python's Meaning of LifeTheir show is great too.Yeah, there pretty offensive and all but they are hilarious......Alot of people don't know em cause they're from the 70's mostly.I love thier brand of surreal, odd, weird and sometimes dark and tasteless humor.
If you like them, which ones your favorite?which movie?Skit?Quote?Spam?Lamma? And so on.

*nudge nudge wink wink*say no more say no more!

I love Monty Pyton. Hes humor is so raw, and easy to understand. Hes... wel, funny, right!?

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-27-2001 12:57 AM

Hes?are you sure you know what your talking about...?Monty Python is a group of six British comedians.....Iric Idle,John Cleese,Terry Jones,Graham Chapman,Micheal Palin and Terry Gilliam(hes not British hes American)

LuxoJr 05-27-2001 01:54 AM

Monty Python rocked!

I love the Cheese Shop sketch where John Cleese screams to 'shut that bloody bazuki up!'

Holy Grail would have to be my favourite - especially the French Taunter skits...

Pacen 05-27-2001 02:04 AM

The only one I've seen is the movie with the fat guy in the restaraunt and he eats so much he explodes. I thought it was very funny (the whole movie) but that's the extent of my knowledge of Monty Python.

Oddipus 05-27-2001 06:17 AM

I saw "Life of Brian" and a friend has a PC-game about Monty Pyton: it's SOOO funny. Their humor is so stupid you HAVE TO laugh. (In the game you play 'tetris' with half living/half dead people, and so much more)

freakyLA 05-27-2001 10:17 AM

Well i don“t know this show. perhaps it was on tv only in the us

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-28-2001 01:11 AM

YAY!some people have just as weird and disturbing tastes as me!!!My favorite movie of theirs was Holy Grail but Meaning of Life is close too.(Pacen, your thinking of Meaning of Life.)Life of Brian has one of the darkest and funniest endings though...all the films are good.....Freaky,the show was in three places(of my knowledge.)its a England show and started thier and went to America and shortly to Germany.thats all the places its been i think.

Come back here!I'll bite ya legs off!

Teal 05-28-2001 01:21 AM

They're more films than television shows - the TV shows were "Monty Python's Flying Circus", I believe - so if you're interested I'm sure you'd find one with a bit of looking.

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-28-2001 01:34 AM

I know Teal...why else would I be writing a topic like this if i didn't know about the show?I mean the name of the topic is a quote from the show. :)

Teal 05-28-2001 01:42 AM

*roooooooolls eyes* Who said I was necessarily talking to you, Squeeky? ;)

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-28-2001 01:45 AM

well, the way you wrote it sounded like you were saying it to me.*grabs eye*grrr....enough of rolling that eye!its gonna fall out.

freakyLA 05-28-2001 01:30 PM

What are these movies? i dunno about which movies you are talking

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-28-2001 01:48 PM

Well, the movies were just wierd comedy movies. They some of the greatest comedies ever made. They didn't come to Germany, but the tv show did for a short while. They're names were And Now For Sometging Completely Diferent,Monty Python and the Holy Grail,Monty Python's Life Of Brian and Monty Python Meaning of Life....

Danny 05-28-2001 09:28 PM

teal, you've got it the wrong way round, they were more tv shows than movies.

i love m.p., but i don't have time to write now.

Lampion 05-29-2001 02:41 AM

I like Monty Python movies a lot. their jokes full of sarcasm and dark humor make me ROTFLOL.
These are the ones I've seen so far:
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • Life of Brian
  • Monty Python's The Meaning of Life

There is also a very funny movie made by Terry Jones, Erik, the Viking, featuring John Cleese and Tim Robins as Erik. It's the same kind of humor we are used to see in the older movies.

Terry Gilliam made a movie called Brazil, which is a great movie. Until now I can't figure out why he gave the movie this name, but it's one of the best comedy/sci-fi/fantasy movie I've ever seen in my life.

Danny 05-29-2001 04:04 PM

'Clockwise' was the best of the post-Python Films. 'A Fish Called Wanda' was okay, but overrated.

Melvin:squeeking paramite 05-31-2001 05:20 PM

Fish Called Wanda over rated????*gasp and so on*i love that movie.its so great....its one of the darkest comedies too.......they really made some great movies when they broke up......Terry Gilliam made some masterpieces......heres my list of good movies after Python....
Fish Called Wanda
Brazil
Baron Munchausen
Time Bandits was okay
haven't seen Fisher King yet....i have it though.
ummmm....god,i haven't really seen too many of the movies after Python.Oh,Terry Jones wrote some really really good childrens books.i loved em!

Melvin:squeeking paramite 06-03-2001 01:09 PM

Danny 06-03-2001 04:25 PM
