Abe games officially coming to the PSN
 

It was suspected for some time that Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exodus were heading for the PSN due to a leak on the ESRB site.

We can announce you this is official, as Oddworld Inhabitants have told us that this was actually going to happen quite soon.

This isn't big news but hey they also send us a hi-res picture from the opening scene of AE, enjoy:

The image is one of the ones they've been handing out to the media to publicize the PSN release. I'm not sure why an official announcement hasn't been made through conventional means yet.

Hmmm........ they claim not to have the game assests anymore.. so where did they manage to get that massive resolution rendering from?

There's no reason to believe that they keep promotional material and game assets in the same place.

Hopefully! They're certainly working on reaching out to new and existing fans with what they've already got, but porting MO and SW will be closest thing to anything actually new coming from them in several years.

The economic situation recently has been a setback for them, but I think the ball has started rolling more definitely for them. I hope they can keep it rolling.

Is that picture just for promotional purposes or are they saying that the games will be playable in a higher resolution?

My guess is that it's just for promotional purposes.

The resolution will be about the same for PS3 I think (on the PSP it's resized down, so that it looks more crisp and clear in my opinion).

Please god, put them on Xbox Live Arcade soon.

Just checked my art book. The hands scars were never in the original image.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is OddWorld Inhabitants, is that the official developer?

I go to the website and there is an image but it doesn't load. Where does it say this is official on the site?
Been waiting a month for it to be released on PSN so I can play it on my PSP

It doesn't say it on the official website. The official website isn't being kept up-to-date.

What I mean't was, where did you see that OI told us it was official? All I see in that link is a large resolution picture.

I've been waiting for oddworld to get released on the PSN ever since ESRB rated it..so I really am excited for it.

You should learn how to read, you know. Expecially if there's a colon before the link. You'll find everything explained about the link before the colon.

That's not really necessary. As I said before, if you read the post I made before this one, the ESRB has rated it so it is probably coming out.

I knew the ESRB had rated it before I found this site...I did not know what made this 'official.', until I found this thread. All I'm asking is where did the OP find that it would be released 'soon'? The second link in the thread simply goes to a picture.

LL - Funny you should ask, because they are already on their way. We just signed the contract this week and the original Abe games will officially be coming to PSN very soon.

Perhaps I missed a detail but are the games coming to the PSN for the PS3, the PSPgo or both?

All the PSone classics at the PSN network work on either your PSP or PS3. Additionally, you can download them using your PS3 and transfer it to your PSP, or even through an application like Media Go then transfer. The games will of course also work on the 3000.
