Australians Not Allowed To Play L4D2

Seriously how stupid can you be. At the very least give it an 18+ rating if your head is so far up your ass to think that people will be traumatized by this game. I don't understand why people from the 1910's are assigned to choosing age ratings for video games, which are played from people from the 1990's and up. You'd assume people from the 1990's should be judging those ages but sure, act stupid. Besides, anyone who knows games also knows that the grapics on the Source engine aren't exactly top notch and the gore in Valve games is generally kept to a minimum. I can't say I find L4D very gory, I've seen much much worse in other games which were apparently fine. So unless they increased the gore level by 500% percent I really don't see the big deal. |
Australia is always at the assend of censorship. Isn't their internet filtered/fucked now too? I heard something about Encyclopedia Dramatica being blocked over there
God damn criminals |
If Bioshock wasn't produced in Australia, that would probably be banned too.
I think they ban violent games in Australia to limit the risk of all the gunfire and blood awakening some kind of dormant rage passed down to them by their criminal ancestors. The last thing we need is for Australia to turn into a violent penal colony again ala Escape From New York. Hehehe, "penal" |
I wish I lived in Australia then, so I wouldn't have to see the stupid thing on sale.
Come on Valve, work on something better. Hint hint Half Life Episode Three wink wink. |

And as for the original article, I love this bit: :

The reevaluation came back the same. Refused Classification. However, they made a version of the game that dialed back the gore, and this version is approved. So, you will get to play L4D2, but my copy is going to better than yours.
|
Be glad. L4D2 looks nowhere near as good as the first one.

I remember when the the OFLC made Rockstar recall and edit GTA: SA. Apparantly they didn't like the prostitutes.
|
I'll wait for comparisons before I buy.
Or just get a copy from Singapore. |
:
this has been the plan since day one |
Probably on PC, but I doubt it for 360 owners. I know at least in the US the ESRB still rates DLC on Xbox Live.
|
Whoop, decrypting the demo :D.
|
Poor Oz.
|
:
Also the game has the grenade launcher as a main weapon along with the others mentioned, and after using it, despite it being unfinished...it's pretty awesome. Anyway tl;dr: Australians got the demo but missed out on all the gore and stuff as well as SWAT zombies. And the demo was 100x better than L4D 1. |
Error launcher.
Also How do the Melee weapons work? Do they completely replace your primary or what? |
No they replace your pistols slot.

Actually I think they are working on it. During an interview about L4D2, Chet let something slip when he said "Employees are just so excited to play Left 4 Dead. The gameplay, the story. We've had people who are working on a... another project, and they tell me it's great to play something completely different for a change."
It's not the EXACT quote but you get the idea. I dunno which clip I heard it in. Anyway, I wouldn't know what other project Valve would have besides EP3 or HL3, and both are good news. |

At least they didn't ban all games for a time like Greece did :fuzmad: |
What is with the red text?
|
He's new. He prolly doesn't know we assrape people for writing their posts in a custom color or font.
|
Hmmmm. Who do we know who would have enough knowledge of the forums to make a Hobo joke immediately after joining? Hmmmmm.
|
MS?
|
BAN!!!
|
He's not MS1029. My guess is he's Reece Charles.
|
:
anyway L4D2 Australian edition looks absolutely dull: |

|
There has been no official announcement other than them saying it will be out eventually.
