Where have you been/Where are you going?
 

This thread is about places you've been or you'd like to go sometime. You can post countries or some special places somewhere around the world.

One place I'd like to visit is Chernobyl. I'd like to the place IRL and not just in a game. Imagine yourself walking there with a geiger-meter.. That would be scary and awesome at the same time. The town of Pripyat has 74*The normal radiation amount.. I really want to walk in the abandoned buildings and play an old contaminated piano. Even at the risk of getting cancer..

And Palez, I totally agree with you about Pripyat! I'd love to go there and take photos, the decay is beautiful in it's own way.

It's so sweet in germany when you get to the mighty AUTOBAHN!! There are no speedlimits :D! Our minimum speed is always 200 km/h (124 m/h).

I forgot to mention Egypt dangit. I'd love to visit the hot sahara. I love hot places that make me sweat like crazy :fuzcool:

Used, I'm studying Japanese with University, so I'm basically all set for next year. I'm only moving out for a year [or so] though. =[ But then I'm moving out there again post-degree. =]

Okay, this might be a cliche but I actually want to see Ayers Rock :)

I bet you would.

Hehe. I could put together a tour like that. Ride a tram to St Kilda Beach, go down to Halfmoon Bay, visit McKinnon High School where Harry was in the same class as Fontaine (and my friend Cheese).

These days it's known as Uluru. And don't climb it unless you want to lose your soul.

What do you mean by that? Is there a saying that if you climb it you lose your soul? I'll still climmb it ;) I don't believe I'd lose my soul..

Climbing it is incredibly insulting to the Aboriginal people who revere the rock as a sacred artifact. Aside from them discouraging you from climbing it simply because you're a nice person and don't want to offend them, they say that the result of you climbing it is losing your soul. They're more than happy for you to visit it and appreciate the wonder of Uluru visually.


That said, I did climb Uluru when I was too young to know better. My resulting lack of soul may well explain a lot about me.
