Music in AO & AE

Discuss the in-game music.

Anyone know where to get the musics from Abe's Exoddus :fuzsad:?

I know you can download music from Abe's Oddysee from oddworld official..

There's a proper link that Xavier posted somewhere, but I can't be bothered finding it. Killy also ripped music from Munch's Oddysee.

Two things to say;
1) Excellent choice of avatar friend
2) I love the music in all the games

I think the best link for you is http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/oddtunes/

MA: There's no AE music there. ^^

OddjobAbe 09-03-2009 02:12 PM

That's the url I was trying my best to remember, and got it right. I just didn't try it, because I though I was wrong. This is why I should trust myself more.

Wil 09-03-2009 03:15 PM

Why didn't you try going to it? Then you'd have seen you were right.

Sekto Springs 09-03-2009 03:50 PM

As I've stated before, I like the AO/AE music than that of MO. SW was on the fence with me.

No idea. If I think I'm wrong, I tend to feel that I can't be arsed even trying. A bad attitude, yes. Why it was applied to such a small situation is beyond me.

MeechMunchie 09-04-2009 04:25 AM

I don't remember much of the music from Oddworld games, but I do remember liking the FeeCo music, the Paramite and Scrab final challenges' music, as well as the menu/credits music.

Oddey 09-04-2009 05:17 AM

I love the music in every Oddworld game, but in MO, it isn't quite as good as it could be.

OddjobAbe 09-04-2009 05:32 AM

I thought that the music in Munch's Oddysee fit the game perfectly for what it turned out to be. The game was done in slightly more light-hearted spirit than the previous two, and so I believe that music was intentionally less atmospheric. It seemed to be used more to create comical tension (if there's such a thing, but I'm sure you know what I mean) instead of a real atmosphere.

Sekto Springs 09-04-2009 11:25 AM

You're right on the money, Oddjob. The problem isn't the music, its the game in general.

PalezQkkeli 09-06-2009 08:26 AM

Oh wow gee thanks y'all  I LOVE THE MUSIC IN AE!<3 It sounds so fantastic. I'd always love to have a track playing in the backround in my head. (As it usually does ;>)

PalezQkkeli 09-10-2009 10:44 AM

Anyone else ever listen to the music from Oddworld games on your freetime?

I like to listen to the Bonewerkz and FeeCo Depot songs

Never Sleeper 09-10-2009 03:18 PM

Well I like to hear the in-game-music too especially from AE the Main Menue. Its just so quiet, mysterious and hypnotic. =P

PalezQkkeli 09-11-2009 11:39 AM

Oh baby got a new subwoofer in my room today and the song from Slig Barracks ender (I think it's called 'War Room') sounds unbelivably awesome. This brings new heights in playing Oddworld games ^^

skillya_glowi 09-12-2009 09:06 AM

I've always liked the music from Abe's Oddysee the most. It just works perfectly with the mood of the game, and I liked the kind of darker atmosphere, without the many whimsical aspects of AE.

My personal favourites are the Free-fire Zone, the Monsaic Lines and the Scrabanian Temple.

AlexFili 09-12-2009 09:50 AM

Slig Barracks music, all the time. It's just so catchy.
I like the Glukkon executive music as well.

Stranger's Wrath used music well, especially when exiting and entering a town.

PalezQkkeli 09-12-2009 09:53 AM

Ya Slig Barracks is just so nicely done to fit the armyscene ;).

Isn't Ellen Meijers or Ellen Meijers-Gabriel the person who's done the music for AO and AE?

Wil 09-12-2009 10:16 AM

She did the background music heard in the levels, but it was Josh Gabriel who scored the FMVs.

Sekto Springs 09-12-2009 11:12 AM

I love how completely different the level music was to the FMV's, but somehow it all seemed to be on the same wavelength as well. That's what we call "chemistry" boys and girls, a term long lost to most modern musicians.

PalezQkkeli 09-12-2009 12:24 PM

But we all agree that the level musics are really fitting to the concept ;)
