Oddworld 2d games in PSN soon!
 

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has once again leaked the upcoming PSOne Classic releases on the Playstation Store of the PSP and Playstation 3. Here are the games they rated recently:

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Bloody Roar
Cool Boarders 2
Cool Boarders 3
International Track & Field
Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
Pandemonium!
SimCity 2000
Syphon Filter 2
Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider 2
Um Jammer Lammy

Some of the games on the list were recently released (Bloody Roar, SimCity 2000 and both Tomb Raider games) while others re-appeared after being rated a long time ago (Pandemonium! and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain). Otherwise, the list composes of new games with a few notables like Syphon Filter 2, Um Jammer Lammy and the Oddworld games.

I've played Oddworld on my PSP before. The control scheme works better than you might expect (I use the PSP analog for L2/R2).

Great. ;) I'm hoping for Xbox Live releases too. I'm not one for buying re-releases of games for newer consoles, but I think I'd be able to make an exception here.

If it does come out for XBLA, I'll get it, one way or the other.

This is brilliant. Now, I'm not the kind of guy who cares about whether you have a PS3 or an XBox, you know, they're both great, it's no big deal which one you choose, but I just want to take this opportunity to say...HA!! PS3 GETS ODDWORLD FIRST!!! Thank you for letting me get that off my chest. :P

Excellent news, very happy I saw this thread. Of course it would be nice if Oddworld games were on the XBLA, but this is good enough.

Having not owned a gaming console since the original xbox, most of what's said in this conversation, especially all the abrvtions, has completely stumped me. However, I'm sure this is wonderful news.

True, the Wii shouldn't miss out on this either, although then again none of the main Oddworld games were released on Nintendo consoles. Only small games were released on handhelds. Not saying that it wouldn't be nice if they were available on WiiWare, but in my opinion there's a slight chance of that happening, at least compared to the chance of the games being released on XBL.

Though again, just my opinion.

Will the games (Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus) have enhanced graphics and sounds compared to the original games? Since the original games for PS1 and PC were kinda low-graph.. :fuzsad:

I doubt it, they tend to just simply be ports, with no extra features. You never know, but I'm saying it's quite unlikely.

Considering there are no staff programmers and all the development tools are "archived", I wouldn't expect any changes at all.

No fair, the only reason i switched form PS to xbox was because of oddworld.
PLEASE LET THEM BE RELAESED ON XBLA!

This is great news, by the way.

I think of Oddworld Inhabitants have proved one thing, it's that they are not loyal to any one particular console company. I hope they go for multi-format, although I will throw a hissy fit if they do a 360/ps3 combo deal. Heck, it might even push me over the edge into buying a 360.

- No, but since it's on a smaller screen, it's very high resolution (for 2D). In my opinion it makes it look about 3-4 times better. Since you aren't squinting.

This is one of my favourite things about OWI.

Since you guys are all hardcore fans of this game, and I'm a newb (I loved all oddworld games, especially the first one) tell me please what is the difference between exodus and the original? I've heard exodus is better but it is the same game just extended, or are they 2 different games?

Abe's Exoddus is a different game, but is built on the exact same engine. It does, however, have many new features.
