OSW has not yet been forgotten:

That was one of the best articals I have seen about SW.
It was only put up TODAY!? Impressive.

Fuzzle Guy 08-30-2009 07:20 AM

Awesome review.

It's made me want to play it again for a third time. Maybe this time I can get Packrat Alive. Third time lucky.

AlexFili 08-30-2009 12:17 PM

It's a great game. I'll play it for a second time sometime soon.

Honestly... I have no idea how everyone finds this so difficult. He comes down after you as soon as you get him to about a quarter health. Just zap and slug him like any other bounty when that happens.

Also, that was a great article. I agree with pretty much everything he said. Then again, here I am on an Oddworld fan site so why wouldn't I?

AlexFili 08-31-2009 12:14 AM

Is that the one with the energy shield? I hated that one.

Wil 08-31-2009 01:16 AM

I'm more shocked that there are regular members who have only played the game through once or twice. Zero times I can understand.

Nate 08-31-2009 03:45 AM

I haven't finished the game more than once. I've started it several more times and gotten to varying distances through. The furthest I got was the ticking clock section right at the end, before I got bored of dying constantly and played something else.

Guekko 08-31-2009 05:41 AM

I've played it all the way through twice, though that is how many times I got play in before my xbox decided that it would not play it, or anything.
People not getting Palooka alive? That one I thought was easy ^^; Its McGraw I cannot get alive, the only one I cannot get alive ^^;
Quite a good review there :3 Makes a change

OANST 08-31-2009 06:26 AM

I've completed Stranger's Wrath around eight or nine times. I really did like that game.

I tried to play it recently, but it looked like shit on my HD tv. The blurriness that occurred every time I moved was giving me a headache, so I stopped.

Bullet Magnet 08-31-2009 06:39 AM

The only one I ever killed was the Duke, when I knocked him into the fans. I reloaded it.

I forget how many times I played it through (mainly because I later had different games going at once on different machines), only that it was a lot.

MA 08-31-2009 07:10 AM

played it first time and killed almost all the Outlaw bosses. then i accidentally deleted the save game so i completed it again, this time only killing the boss with the energy shields. i got the knack of knocking him off the platform, but i just couldn't be arsed to keep redoing it every time i died, trying to catch him alive. i just killed him in the end.

i also liked the first half of the game were you are catching Outlaws a lot more than when you reveal yourself as a Steef. < in case someone hasn't got that far.

OANST 08-31-2009 07:42 AM

I loved the second half of the game. I think I actually liked it better than the first half with the Outlaws.

Probably because there were no Clakkers.

AlexFili 08-31-2009 08:19 AM

I'd hate to play a game more than twice. I used to think that I could replay MGS3 over and over, but I'm on my third playthrough and it seems a lot worse than it did on the second time.

I'm saving MO and SW for the next time I'm really bored.

Guekko 08-31-2009 08:52 AM

I do prefer it in the second half, but I prefer outlaws over wolvarks X.x Wolvarks get on my nerves. I need to replace my xbox before I can play it again

Jordan 08-31-2009 10:02 AM

I've only finished it once, it's quite hard for me to finish a game the second time, and I don't do it often. I do need to get SW out and play it some time, hopefully I'll find it easier than I did last time.

Lorne would be flattered.

AlexFili 08-31-2009 11:55 AM

What I mean by that is, I want to wait a while before I attempt it again... otherwise it won't be as fun as it was the first time. There's too many games I need to finish in the meantime!

Yeah, really. What the fuck was OWI thinking?

Leto 09-01-2009 04:25 AM

"EVERYBODY LIKES CHICKENS AND THE SOUTH", probably.

4PP: Chickens are horrible. They have beady, soulless eyes, and I’m not sad that people eat them. What were the challenges in making the chicken people so damn funny and likable?

LL:
That’s funny, and I don’t disagree. Here’s the story…

I was in this nature store one day and came upon a postcard with an angry as hell looking bald eagle photo on it. This bird was so condescending looking. I mean, it really gave that impression that it was far better than you and I and didn’t give a damn about what we thought of it. It’s face said everything. This bird was a real prick, it knew it, and it didn’t care. It had this elitist air that looked grumpy and tenacious, and a bit of a conservative thinker. I just loved it. To me, it perfectly represented early American settlers. That’s what the townsfolk were about and were inspired by, American and Australian settlers that didn’t give a shit about who’s land they stole, so long as it served their own purpose. So…

I brought this eagle image into Silvio’s office and said, “These are what our townsfolk should feel like, but they need to retain absurdity and goofball qualities.” That picture spoke a million words, and really that’s what we’re always trying to achieve in character design. Designs that communicate much more than just character designs, but embrace communicate attitude, irony, and audaciousness. If you can get that right, you can get some engaging characters that have the potential to be fun to flay with, but also fun to mess around with. “Mess with their minds” was a theme throughout the production of the game amoungst the game design team. Personally, I suspect I’m a cruel game player. I want characters that I can bat around and abuse for some good laughs. I admit, its messed up, but we’re a messed up species and I’ve never claimed to be an exception.

That's maybe the best response that he has ever given to anything.

I like the Clakkers.

Man, what a Cock.

Nice review, I liked it.

SW was a great game, not sure how many times I finished it, perhaps twice.
