Hi, is there a Abe's Oddysee level builder?
 

Hi!

I am a huge Abe's Oddysee fan (of course). I have completed the game saving all 99 mudokons and I can draw a map of RuptureFarms from memory. ;)

Anyway, I love the levels on Abe's Oddysee and I really want to make some of my own, especially in RuptureFarms. I saw a thread by Sligstorm and he said that he was working on some sort of level editor. Is there any sort of level creater, builder, maker, editor or atleast something I can download and make my own levels on? If so, please could you give me a link for it?

Sadly, no such tool is available (the sligstorm thing was an oddworld clone, if I recall correctly), but welcome to the forums!

Yes, it is awesomely sad that I drew a map of RuptureFarms. I even drew in every single slig, slog, electric field, door, lift etc in it. I drew in Zulags 1, 2, 3 and 4. I even drew what Zulags 5, 6 and 7 could be like aswell! :happy:

Paul's level builder allows you to take every single file from the .lvl file out. Not all of them can be editted yet, but background screens (.cam files) and some others can (path files, some .ban files). All you can really do with it is change the background screens which even then is still pretty cool. You can muck around with the .vh and .vx files from different levels if you want different sounds. I might make a YouTube video in 2 weeks time showing you how to use it.

Yeah, I've been trying to teach other people how to use it like LoStrainero and some YouTube people so they can post their results.

Are you just being a grammar nazi because you're dissapointed you're not as awesome as them. And you can't memorise Rupture Farms, which would be a big help in the real world.

I could probably map out huge chunks of Oddysee and Exoddus if I had literally nothing better to do. Fortunately I have enough imagination and responsibility to prevent that from happening any day soon.

I use my Oddworld-knowledge to get women in bar.

In my experience, women are perfectly willing and able to go in a bar all of their own accord. Or is that spending time with you makes them desperately need a drink?

Does anyone want to know how to use the level builder or shall I be selfish and not bother to make a nice video on how to edit most things in a level?

I didn't intend to insult her. it was silly a joke, she didn't know what one was so she just took it as a insult.

But i could of used wit, it would of made things a lot simple. But at least somthing funny came out of it.

i'm sure Chubfish would like someone to reply to his question. after all, it is his decision whether he shows you how to work it or not.

Probably will be. First part will be on how to use it for extracting all the files in the .lvl and how to put them back in, and maybe add more files to it or take some out.

You also have to realise that on saturday i go on holiday for a week so this will probably all be done after that.

Saved all 99 mudokons? You showoff, you...;)
