Cell/Mobile phones you can recommend?
I'm too tight to buy an Iphone but I'd like to get a newer phone. Dont care about 2d platformer games, my only interest is 2D space trading / strategy type games.
Current phone: Nokia 6230i (about 6-7 years old if not older) Budget: £25-50 Features wanted; Camera, Basic Games, Music. No SIM needed. No contracts please. Any ideas? |
Here's my idea: http://www.phoneforums.org/

50 pounds for a camera phone? Good luck with that.
|
My thoughts:
There are mobiles that don’t have cameras? People actually play games on mobiles? Why are my thoughts always questions rather than answers? |
My phone's great. Let me just take a pictu-
Oh my god! I've grown so reliant on my cell phone for taking pictures I have a camera nowhere near me! Thus, I cannot take a picture of my phone! What an ironic twist ohohohoh |
I have a phone with a camera on it, and it's like 2-3 years old. It only cost me £50 so... either phones are getting more expensive, or the price of phones isn't changing.
Seriously, who would pay £250+ for an Iphone? |
I would recommend any phone. If it helps to communicate with people, it should be just dandy.
As for video-games, if you want to play 2-D strategy games, get a Gameboy Advance or a DS Lite (I fucking hate that spelling of "light", by the way). They'll be much better than the shitty phone games, and almost as compact. If you're looking for cheap, get the Gameboy Advance. Basically, don't buy a new phone for the sake of it being new, and for games, use a proper gaming system. There's a chance it'll cost less, and games tend to be much more well produced and much more enjoyable when produced for systems built soley with gaming in mind. |
i have a Sony Ericsson K800i, had it a while. all the pictures i post here have been taken with it, and it communicates just fine, so it does the job.
i tend to go with cheap phones, i'm not fussed about cameras, games and the like on them (my previous phone was a Siemens A62, i just had to look). but it has been playing up recently. |
Yeah you're right. I'll just stick with my current phone and my PSP.
Oh well, another year of "not buying a new phone". Damnit, when will these companies lower their prices?! |
When you stop pooing the bed.

The Motorola "Brick Phone"
http://www.oaktreeent.com/web_photos...-Phone_web.jpg GOD, the audio quality on these analog phones was great. You whippersnappers. But seriously, this is AWESOME. The Port-O-Rotary I'm going to have a red desk phone I have converted. Then it's going in my car. |

Nokia 5210 Xpress Music That's a great little phone, my sister has it and for the price it's very good. I think that would set you back about £50 - £70, I'm not too sure though. -- And why would you even consider getting an iPhone? |
Nokia 5210 Express Music's don't smoke cigarettes.
|
There is one reason I would consider getting an iPhone, and that’s because there’s a music recognition app.

I think you need to find a way to get more then 50 and join the I-touch cult.. Especially if you can figure out to hack them they are almost limitless in entertainment and usefulness social or otherwise.
|
Who needs an iPhone, seriously?
|
i agree.

Any why would any one get a touch-screen phone, there the most annoying things I have ever used. iPhone < Nokia N Series iPod < Creative Zen "The new iPhone 3Gi: Now with video and faster 3G" - Like all other phones had about 2 years ago then? As far as apps are concerned the Nokia N series has loads of great apps. |
