Question: Any games with Slig-like characters?

I was wondering if anyone knows of some games where you play as Slig-like characters? Either part-machine animals or like semi-evil anti-hero guard type characters?

Or any games based on a prison could be interesting.
I saw a picture of this one game where it was this prison isometric adventure game. The developer was Spanish but I think it got translated. No idea of the name. If anyone can help i'd be very greatful.

Also, any games like the Italian Job / Ocean's Eleven? Where you case a place and then rob it? That would rock! Thanks!

I saw a commercial once that had a character that had a face like a slig with the tentacles and eyes, it was called

Awesome.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate destruction.

Not necessarily relevant, but you'll be having so much fun you'll forget what you wanted in the first place.

One word.

Illithids.

Or two.

Mind Flayers.

What flavors do they come in?

Mac Sirloin 07-18-2009 02:28 PM

Actually, yeah, there are these three games where you control Slig-like characters. they look exactly the same, actually! You don't control them the whole game, but at specofic points if need be.

Can't quite remember the name, though.

What flavors do they come in?

In 3.x? Regular, Sorcerer, and Lich. Lich is less tasty than the rest, being a corpse and all.

There's also like a hundred different variants but I can't own ALL the sourcebooks, can I?

Nate 07-27-2009 05:18 AM

Who doesn't he hate?

Wings of Fire 07-27-2009 06:38 AM

Upper class thin white British gentlemen.

Nate 07-27-2009 10:33 PM

My friend Kale once met a woman who named her son 'Cthulhu'. Apparently she didn't know where it came from but just "liked the sound of it".

digidestiny 07-27-2009 10:58 PM

Lovecraft was a miserable bastard and an appalling racist. Even at a time when what we consider to be racist was casual conversation. He got looks for his insane anti-semitism and outright batshit-insanity.

I just don't get the popularity of Cthulhu. The stories themselves are wordy as fuck and not all that terrifying.

Wings of Fire 07-28-2009 12:39 PM

Yeah, he even out-pisses Meyer over the rainbow, and gets away with it because his creations are shamefacedly stolen from the Greek Titans culturally original and dark and morbid to the point of being stale nihilistic.

OANST 07-28-2009 12:45 PM

Mr. and Mrs. Lovecraft are not pleased.

Hold on. Much as his writing is obnoxious, that doesn't make it bad, it's just, well, wordy. And overrated. Comparing him Meyers is like comparing Deodorant that doesn't work at all to smearing shit in your armpits.

Fun fact! His wife was Jewish.

Wings of Fire 07-28-2009 01:20 PM

Of course, I was just stating that his prose shares similarities with a well ripened aubergine, perhaps I went a little overboard but man does that guy have a fandumb.

The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that this picture should be a meme with the caption reading "The Lovecraft's are not pleased".

Mac Sirloin 07-28-2009 02:09 PM

His wife is sneering sort of in the second one.

OANST 07-28-2009 02:11 PM

They are the same picture. But, yeah. That's how I would expect the wife of Lovecraft to look at people.

Strike Witch 07-28-2009 11:40 PM

I kinda like The Colour Out Of Space and The Mountains of Madness.

Hazel-Rah 07-30-2009 08:23 AM

shadow out of time was interesting i thought, even if it did have a lot of plot holes

Xavier 07-30-2009 08:38 AM

Hmmm, I quite like Lovecraft's work but I have to agree it isn't terrifying at all. I especially liked the stories involving Randolf Carter, but again, I wasn't looking for some horror literature. :p
