North Korea
I really don't know if this has been discussed before, so if so, then flame me so I can cum all over you.
At any rate, the entire tension has died down by now, but what are your thoughts on the crisis with North Korea using nuclear missile testing? IS there any need for such a thing, especially since the country has been branded 'terrorist'? Also, because of a long time tension between Japan, a fired missle narrowly missed the country, and though they have promised to stop activities, something had leaked about North Korea trying to acquire Uranium? How do you think the situation will go if this continues in the next decade or so? Is war over the horizon? |
What's with the influx of threads about current events and controversies?
I don't particularly care for North Korea. Call me an asshole, but I almost hope the CIA figures out a way to assassinate Kim Jong Il before it's too late. |
I can't see the situation with Korea escalating into a world war, didn't China, their only possible allys, do a national facepalm when they 'tested' the missiles?
|
Yeah, something like that. I heard they might cut off their foreign aid to NK.
|
I'm not sure if Russia is still communist, since China and NK are.
And Used, I agree with you with the fact that Kim Jong Il should be assassinated, or in the least, overthrown. I've read some things about his younger days that generally made me cringe. |
:
Where've you been for it? |
I'm only eighteen. That answers your question. ^_^
|
So you've lived your whole life with Russia being capitalist.
No excuse. |
Just by two years!
Anyway... ¬_¬ I do think NK might be taking advantage of the whole Iraq (and possibly, Iran) thing so they can lash out at Japan for no reason and not get hassled by America or Britain. Srs. Y? |
To me NK right seems like an annoying kid threatening to punch everyone in the classroom if he doesn't get his way, just to get attention or something. I don't even get why the hell they are doing it if the US has like 20 nukes aimed at them. They level one building of a US ally and the US levels their entire country. I mean seriously.
|
I think that evacuating all of the citizens then bombing the entire country in one fell swoop with KJI yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" as his palace/hovel crumbles would solve everything.
|
Evacuating? Nah, too much effort. Just bomb it right now and give the survivors a box of chocolates and a rose.
|
Regardless of how easy it would be for the US to take out NK, no intelligent leader is going to resort to nukes or hope for a tragedy to use as an excuse to attack them (please don't bring 9/11 into this). They want to avoid any kind of tragedy at all costs (I hope). KJI is almost, quite literally, a loose cannon, which is why I hope that some sort of "accident" does him in.
On the other hand, I agree with Kastere. |
:
It's the same problem as was with Saddam; Uday was so batshit insane that Saddam was safe from assassination because things could only get worse. |
I hate to keep toeing the middle line but.....
The only country that's ever used nukes is the USA. The USA has also used nukes as a threat and deterrent-see the Cold War. Yet they don't want Korea to have them because they percieve them as hot-headed. Double standard much? That said I think Kim Jong Il IS hot headed, much moreso than any recent US president thats for sure. Military action isnt the right way to go, but sitting back and simply saying "Naughty Korea, stop it now" does fuck all good. |
I know what you mean, but keep in mind Japan had its own blood-stained agenda going on at the time too. They committed plenty of atrocities in south-east Asia that would have warranted retaliation eventually. I still think that particular time in history could have been handled differently without the use of nukes. Even so, the nukes of those years are far less destructive than the nukes of today. No one wants war, and with a situation as delicate and potentially deadly as this, all anyone can really do right now is pressure NK to stop their operations.
|
Yeah, Japan had it coming with their desperate and merciless war in Manchuria and other places. Thank god those guys were so obsessed with killing themselves in failure, or the war would still be raging.
|
Japanese soldiers also ate their prisoners when supplies ran thin. And shot civilians. But, then again, it was occupational. But North Korea occupying another country might be an eventuality, since there officially is still a war between Russia and NK, though obviously not 'full scale', a few skirmishes here and there. These are just figures I've discovered.
