Help in Scrabania!
 

Right, so I'm at the final part of this level right before supposedly going to the Scrabanian temple. I get through all of it with no problem, then in the last part there is a slog waiting next to the bird portal. I chant, it comes running so I turn and run back to the previous screen, jump in the well and avoid the slog (so far so good) now my problem starts when I make it back to the portal I cant exit!

I run right up to it and go right through the open portal but not into it! (oddly enough the slog fallows but doesn't eat me, it just ends up standing next to me).

I'm thinking this is a glitch but I don't know what to do, if I restart from my save point it takes me a couple steps back (in front of the well that takes you to the mudoken and the mine that flies around) but then when I reach this spot the same thing happens!

If anyone else happened upon a bird portal that doesn't work (or rather that you can't go through) I would like a solution. Any help would be great.

I'm working from memory, but I think you need to run past the bird portal and jump through it from the other side.

Given that the slog doesn't eat him I think this actually is a glitch. I wouldn't have a clue on how to fix it though.

Assuming you’re not always jumping too soon or too late, this is definitely a glitch. You don’t have to jump into the portal from the other direction. You can try it, but it probably won’t work since portals can only be jumped into one way.

Are you playing the PC or PlayStation version?

I'm playing on on the PlayStation version. I had a theory that because I have to run from the slog immediately after chanting, the portal is not fully formed when I cross to the previous screen, idk if that would cause it to malfunction but that's all I could come up with. Other than that I cant think of what to do, is there a way I can skip this level (after all I played through the whole thing minus this hiccup)?

And as for the slog not eating me, it seems that when he makes contact with me behind the portal it just doesn't attack. I can walk back to the previous screen and then he will eventually run after me and indeed kill me if it gets at me. Yet still attempting a second run at the already open portal results in me standing behind the portal once more and the slog not eating me. Its rather Odd ;)

Strange, it never happens with me. I chant and run away to the well, shoot over the Slog then run and jump into the portal, just like that.
