New Ranks?
 

I think you guys have had the Stranger's Wrath ranks for quite a few years now and since we lowly members can't get custom titles it might be nice to finally make a change for the rank names. :p

Possibly now incorporating all the original games into the mix instead of just Stranger alone.

Nah. That would be weird. What would be higher, an outlaw or a slig?

The Stranger's Wrath ranks actually make more sense to me. Because they would seem exotic to the people who have only played AO,AE.

Sligs would be higher, since they have one-hit kill! (lol... just kidding).

We've already upgraded. These names were new about a few years ago.

Think about it. What is, in the real world, higher, a mammal or a slug?

A slug with arms, mechanical pants, and a gun is pretty damn intimidating.

A huge mammal with a gun would be even more intimidating.

I dont have strangerwrath yet but i intend to get it, I dont really understand the ranks and until now thought htye were making them all up besides fuzzles and such!!!

The current ranks are good enough, no one here needs every n00b who joins adding to the rank system. If you haven't played Stranger's Wrath before, well, you're in the minority, because people like recent games. Stranger's Wrath is one of the major reasons people still join this forum.

How should you know how many people have and haven't played SW? Do you know everyone on these forums? Up until now I doubt you've ever seen me and I've been here over a year! Here's some advise: Don't call people n00b for no reason; don't act all mighty, you're not Hobo; and don't give any reason for us to flame you, we like doing it all too much.

As for the ranks, I agree with AlexFili, I have never played SW and the ranks do feel exotic. I think since this is a forum for all Oddworld it would be nice to involve a bit of the original two games but ranks are so small and meaningless to me I don't think it's worth the effort and I doubt the Admins really would care enough either. :p

The problem of working out which creatures and which types of creature outrank which is one that has already prevented the integration of titles from multiple Oddworld sources. I came up with an alternative, with multiple parallel ‘tracks’ of ranks, like Military, Mystical, Live Ammo, etc. Unfortunately vBulletin doesn’t have a good way of implementing this.

I think that the highest rep title should be something along the lines of "username is a homosexual". Because really, if you have that much rep....and you're here....what are the odds that you aren't?

I don't think we're talking about rep ranks.

But since we have at least one member already a stone’s throw from attaining the highest rep rank in less than a year and a half (and one multi whose rep somebody decided to artificially inflate to the highest rank), I feel that the rep ranks should be extended or otherwise modified to account for members with higher reputation.

Also Peter should give me full database and server access.

No plugins of this kind available? I know the modding community for Vbulletin is pretty big, if you can't find it maybe someone will even write it for you from scratch. It should certainly be possible with a little bit code tweaking. I've seen more extensive stuff being done to VB.

If Chuck Norris was a member of OWF he already would of roundhouse kicked Alcar and declared himself ruler.

Chuck Norris has no need of titles or glory. He knows how great he is and he knows that we know it too.

Though his roundhouse kicks sometimes do come in useful to the mod team.

I’ve done some Google searching but come up with nothing, and if I did I’d have to ask Peter to install it. I’d be willing to take a look at vB and see if I can patch them manually (if only I had access), but I don’t know how kindly vBulletin and its updates would take to such meddling.
