Oddworld - Underworld updates
 

Hi, here is where I hope to list some updates, I am soon to be releasing the first printscreen of me playing a bit of my game, see what you think and stuff.

UPDATES

Sprites: Finished
Backgrounds: Finished
Animated Sprites: Completed
Game Creation: Started

Glitches fixed: ???
Testing Room, Created will produce into a one room tiny demo

yeh but I just thought maybe seperate topic seperate thread but u might be right i hope it doesnt get banned though, hey do you no how to upload demos?

go to 4shared or fileave.com and create a free account, then you can upload stuff there, after you upload it you can get it's URL and copy and paste it as a link into your signature, then people can click on it and it will give them your demo. If I didn't explain this very well then ask J_dude320 or joshkrz, because I found out this info. from them.

You said you got it from me and J_dude. But I told J_dude about it. I'm not bothered anyway. You could of said you found it out from a stuffed seal and I wouldn't be fussed.

anyway..back to the topic, the demo i release is going to be extremely glitchy, its one room basically just to give you a feel of the game!

Try not using spaces in file names. That always messes up in Fileave for me.

by the way scrabtrapman as a guy who uses gamemaker don't upload the .gmk file create an .exe file and upload that so people can't steal your work

And so everyone can open them, I can't be bothered downloading GM so please save as an EXE. Unlucky for Mac users though.

upload a zip. too if that's possible, because then I can play it:D(my P.C. is needing repair)

im no technological guy so can you explain to me simple what an exe. file is and how i do it

An .Exe is an Executable file, In other words it's an interactive application file. 2 clicks and hey presto, It's open and ready for use.

If your using GameMaker (which I assume you are) just open your game in it and then go: File > Create Executable

What? An Interactive Application? Not all EXE's are interactive.

An EXE is a script that is executed on your computer however this file format is only available to Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Another files that's like "EXE" is a .MSI file. MSI's are basically zip files with a wizard interface and has the ability to read and write registry entries. Once again MSI can only run on Windows and is commonly used in 64x machines.

If you require a project to be an EXE file, I have a number of freeware programs that can do this for you. Just send me a PM.

I usually use that when I have to upload some certain things.

No you don't. I don't know why everyone's Fileave account doesn't work, everything I host works :S

Make sure you go to files then copy the link it gives you under the file name, in Firefox, just right click it then click "copy link location".
