New oddworld fan game: Oddworld - underworld
 

Ok so i'm creating a game that is a month in progress, i'm getting some sprites and prop houses, I do need someone to help me with publicity and stuff so help wud be appreciated... :fuzzle:

Its a competition as such to see who can make the best game up to christmas '09

Okay scrabtrapman I have posted some sprites in my fan game thread called slig assasin fan game, feel free to use any of them, also if you want some more good sprites go to J_dude320's thread called oddworld fan game, and there should be a link in there that will lead you to one of Carnix's threads which has alot of sprites in it, I also think ARXYL made some good fleech sprites... forgot where they were located though.

also joshkrz this contest we are having is kind of odd because someone I am competing with is also helping me program some stuff in gamemaker, and I am using some of Carnix's sprites, and Carnix is helping you... confusing :D

kl nice ot have a popular thread, yeh thisi s the game that ill be working on till next year, Ill give a tease:

Basically the game is set in the fallout zone that is rupture famrs a few months after it blew up, in the very depths of Rupture Farms is a no mans land that contains escaped creatures, vile mudombies, fera lslogs and god knows what else, a hero slig yet to be named (need a good name for him suggestions)? is doing what he can to escape or at least survive while saving a couple of his buds aswell.

oh yerh, abe only shut down the main power and his mates blew up the prison cell bit ( i think).

what's the prison cell bit? sorry never played Odyssee just Exodous.......

That's where Abe was kept after the sligs caught him. I don't think they actually blew that up though. I dunno, maybe with no power, everything could get out. Or maybe the building collapsed.:D

mullok should be happy he dosent have any electriciy bills, and i thought they blew that room up with the lighning bolt, oh well, i need to play it again

My Oddworld game will only be quite short, in a similar style to my HerbWars and Silpher's Pack game. I don't want to waste 100+ hours making a long winded RPG that no-one will play. I want to try some experimental gameplay that will make people think, "Wow, that's not been done before".

What are prop houses by the way? And is there any chance of a demo?

oke edit sorry i cant be bothered to double post since its my thread and also i just found all the ruptur farms prop houses so i no longer need them. ta anywho

If its graphics related I may be able to help? I need to know what they are first

ok to answer htat, yeh there's a demo in a few months, and a prop house is just were all the paths and lights and backgrounds go in one massive screen. Help would be appreciated I need a gamemkaer techdude to give some info and a publicity coordinator

Oh, sorry, I can't help with game maker, whet do you mean publicity coordinator?

Don't worry about a Publicity Coordinator. You're not gonna need that for a long while. First things first you need to work on obtaining the skills to make a fun game. I've got a lot of experience with Game Maker and Adobe Flash. If you got any questions or need help with something feel free to PM me.
