Read it and laughed. Let's see how much these god bible abiding fanatics accomplished:

1. Killed a man.
2. Fired a gun in the house of god.
3. Killed a man in the house of god.
4. Being a fucking hypocrite.

And people wonder why I hate religion

Bullet Magnet 06-01-2009 10:31 AM

You're laughing? Fuck you.

I was going to post a blog on this. Dr Tiller was one of the few doctors in the whole of the United States who performed late-stage abortions. Very late-stage. Many people see this as the ultimate evil (yeah, I know) but this completely disregards the nature of late-stage abortions.

These are not abortions done on a whim. When women discover that they are pregnant and don't want it, they get an abortion fairly quickly, what comes out is indistinguishable from a chicken of the same age. But Dr Tiller terminated pregnancies that were usually eagerly planned for, that the parents wanted to carry to full term, until something went terribly wrong. These are later-term therapeutic abortions: they are necessary for the mother's health. Be it that she has mental health problems, they have discovered something seriously wrong with the child and/or the pregnancy process that threatens the mother, she contracts a disease that neither child nor mother will survive while she is pregnant etcetera. Many would be the victims of rape who are in no state to terminate their unwilling pregnancies any earlier. And these situations take a major toll on the mother, mentally and physically.

Dr Tiller's clinic was renowned for the thoughtful patient support it provided: counselling, support groups, religious services for the lost child etcetera. Here was a man and his staff who genuinely cared about women's health, and every day, because of people who deem women valuable only when pregnant, of people whose concern for human life ends at birth, he and his staff risked life and limb in order to provide this valuable and necessary service to women, many of whom had to travel a great distance indeed because of the actions of the fringe pro-life terrorist groups have frightened away many potential doctors and killed a few more.

As far as the far-reaching consequences go, these misogynists may have already won. We have lost a great man and suffered a major blow to women's rights and women's health.

One of the hugest moral contradictions ever...

I don't know what to say. I've never heard of this guy before, mind, but this is still fucking horrible.

This is terrible. Can't say much more.

Munch's Master 06-02-2009 07:40 AM

Pretty awful. How these people can justify their actions when it is in many ways a worse form of what they condemn, is beyond me.

jesus, the chap had it rough. what a way to go.

Not defending this guy, but what ways are killing this guy worse than late term abortions such as he did, as late as the third trimester.

Also, domestic terrorism.

When the life of the mother was at significant risk.

You can't kill something that isn't alive.

Bullet Magnet 06-03-2009 01:07 PM

Foetuses are alive. The squamous epithelial cheek cells I slough off and swallow every minute are alive (and in this day and age have every potential to become children).

The difference I outlined in my original post. Late term terminations are not done on a whim. They are not like earlier abortions, where a mother simply does not want to have a child. These are terminations of wanted, eagerly awaited pregnancies. Pregnancies that circumstance has suddenly rendered untenable, even dangerous. They are also terminations for which the mother was in no fit state to undergo the procedure earlier, such as some victims of rape. The physical and psychological toll on the mothers is great: none of them ever wanted to be in that situation. Which makes it all the more commendable the level of after care their patients are given to help them through such a terrible time. If anything, late term abortions are far more necessary than earlier abortions.

Not that this matters at all to to the children of the foetus god.

:

In 1991 and until his murder, Dr. Tiller was one of the few doctors in this country who performed late-term abortions. Despite what Operation Rescue claimed, none of his clients were ending pregnancies on a whim. None of them wanted to be there.

Each case was a tragedy -- a much anticipated child discovered to have only a partially formed head, a baby that was dying in the womb and had to be delivered, a child with medical problems so profound as to be unimaginable, a diagnosis that meant a child's life outside its mother's body would be both brief and brutal.

Tiller's clients often included couples who had been hoping to become parents but had their hearts broken late in pregnancy when they received horrifying medical news about their much-wanted babies.

These people got no mercy from Operation Rescue.

They were hounded and harassed, shoved and shouted at on the most heart-breaking day of their lives. In order for patients to make it to their appointments, clinic supporters had to coordinate each woman's arrival with walkie-talkies. They shielded the patient by forming a flying wedge of bodies that rushed through the crowd to escort her into the building.

I watched one woman sobbing as she and her husband were helped into the clinic. Her tears went unnoticed by the hundreds of protestors surrounding her who shrieked and wailed and tried to trip the people escorting her to the door.

It was horrible.

Not to mention how many potential children die every time a guy masturbates.

This whole situation is very sad. I really can't understand how people can't fathom that the majority of people who have abortions (especially late-term ones) aren't doing it because its "fun". I mean, really, thinking logically one can know that you don't go through that without a good reason

But I guess they don't think logically. Abortions are strictly on whims of baby haters, rape is no excuse (in fact, they had it coming).

Such a sad state of things. Very depressing.

They aren't a person until they're in my phone book.

How about every time a gay guy has sex? It isn't easy being nature's population control.

Bullet Magnet 06-05-2009 01:07 AM

I sometimes wonder why the pro-lifers don't try to ally with some gay organisations, on account of being the people least likely to have abortions.

Then I remember, and feel silly.

Anonyman! 06-05-2009 09:38 AM

I'm going to try, somehow, to have an abortion. I'd become the antichrist.

Strike Witch 06-05-2009 10:52 PM

I thought Obama was the Antichrist?

Anonyman! 06-06-2009 10:55 AM

Then I call false prophet.
