Oddworld Bonus Games you'd like to see

It would be interesting to see a Nintendogs style game where you look after a baby Mudokon, Slig, Paramite, Scrab, Glukkon, Slog... etc

Phylum 05-02-2009 01:41 AM

I disagree. I feel a game like that would be cool, but also take away from the overall feel of the oddworld gaming franchise.

Although, anything's better than nothing

Xavier 05-02-2009 02:21 AM

I don't really like the idea... you'd lose all the oddworld feel if you simply take the creatures out of their context to put them somewhere they don't belong at all.

AlexFili 05-02-2009 04:22 AM

How about an Oddworld Wild-West shooter? Like an on-rails version of Stranger's Wrath? :P

Wil 05-02-2009 07:25 AM

You mean like the mine cart sections of Stranger’s Wrath?

I feel there should be a The Sims ripoff where you play as Mudokons. You pick a career track: hunter, shaman, farmer, whatever. Then you earn Spooce and get to place all the furniture in your hut. And you can make Mudokons get off with each other.

Oh yeah baby.

OANST 05-02-2009 08:09 AM

How about a Mortal Kombat and Oddworld tie in? They did it with DC, why not this? Eh? Eh?

Anyone who genuinely agrees with this post will be promptly negrepped.

AlexFili 05-02-2009 08:13 AM

I'd like to see a Sim Management game for Glukkons, that would be cool. Find land, choose a supply, hire Sligs, make traps, etc.

Bullet Magnet 05-02-2009 08:50 AM

Slig tossing. Like dwarf tossing, only... yeah.

OANST 05-02-2009 08:56 AM

Like the British slang term?

Now where did I put my Stranger fiction? Hold on. Be right back.

AlexFili 05-02-2009 02:21 PM

Like the gnome tossing from Harry Potter?

Xavier 05-02-2009 11:41 PM

Actually a strategy game where you have to handle a production plant of the Magog Cartel would be interesting. Even if it would probably lack the ethic messages that are in the other games, it would be interesting to see things from the Glukkons point of view.

Fuzzle Guy 05-03-2009 02:22 AM

Seeings as it's only a bonus game, it probably doesn't need an ethical message. It's just jumping on the bandwagon and making something for a bit of fun for both the creators and the players.

Like the British slang term?

"Here Boy!... Look out!"

AlexFili 05-03-2009 03:11 AM

I want to make a Slig game where you walk around and talk to other Sligs. I'll let you know how I get on ;) Maybe I could make a Glukkon game too :p

Wil 05-03-2009 05:58 AM

Just get your friends to pretend to be Sligs. Then you can all walk about cosplaying with each other.

That would be nice. Maybe a SWAT-style game, but with Slig characters would be cool too.

AlexFili 05-03-2009 01:27 PM

I did have a SWAT-like Slig team, in Armament. Maybe a fanfic game is in order :p

stonetooth 05-04-2009 04:31 PM

I just had so awesome a game, i shit myself.

What if they make a game two years after the defeat of the sekto, and the outlaws are angry and defeated. The clakker towns seem to spring up out of no where, and the clakkerz are bolder now. They carry guns, pitch forks, and other weapons.

But amidst the remains of the outlaw bosses, there is one who rises to the occasion and, either beating up or killing other outlaw bosses, or forging a alliance with other outlaws, unites the outlaw gangs and tries to take over the mongo.

He leads attacks on clakker towns with gangs of outlaws to help him, and in the end, takes the fight to where stranger lives, with gruubs and roughly a handful of steef that he has helped preserve after sekto's death.

Either that or a oddworld strategy game, like hand of odd, the poor thing...

Outlaw faction, Industrialist faction, nature faction, and hireable creeps, like paramites, scrabs, etc.
And a campaign for each different faction, leading them to a great inevitable war.

And yes, i know these aren't bonus games, but still...THEY BOTH SOUND FUN TO ME!

MeechMunchie 05-04-2009 11:09 PM

Grand Theft Minecar?

Xavier 05-04-2009 11:13 PM

How could this be fun to play?

Bullet Magnet 05-05-2009 10:22 AM

It's like Extreme Curling, set on Oddworld. You steal a minecar from the mines, then a team of mudokons painstakingly construct a track for you as you make your escape with your new hobo-house.

AlexFili 05-05-2009 10:33 AM

It would be like a mix between Lemmings and that Wallace & Gromit episode where Gromit is laying train track pieces in front of a moving train.

MeechMunchie 05-05-2009 10:59 PM

Perhaps destroying everything in sight is only fun in the context of a game where your'e normally very vunerable.

Wil 05-06-2009 04:46 AM

Spooce Invaders. I think the title speaks for itself.

Nate 05-06-2009 05:40 AM

Not going to be a very difficult game. After all, they just... sit there.

Wil 05-06-2009 06:20 AM

So does space.

I've always thought of that , cause the best and first game series i've ever played are oddworld and mk , but the only prob is how:fuzconf:

Bullet Magnet 05-06-2009 07:23 AM

Slogger. SligSlug. MagogKart. Theme Meat-Packing Plant. Cartel Tycoon.

OANST 05-06-2009 07:29 AM

I would play MagogKart.

AlexFili 05-06-2009 08:50 AM

I was thinking of a Jockey game like "Scrab Racing" :D

Odd Ryan 05-06-2009 11:03 AM

Ummmmmm maybe a.....FPS (First Person Shooter) were you are a mud......
