Resident Evil series
I bought Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii on a whim that I might actually enjoy it. Actually, I think it's probably the best light-gun style game I have ever played in my life. I can imagine how two-player co-op would be really fun to try out in this game.
I saw the Resident Evil film, which I thought was pretty good actually. I'm not a fan of the 'core' of the franchise, since I didn't care for the DS one and the fast zombies in RE4 would scare the crap outta me. I really do like Umbrella Chronicles though, it's quite slow-paced and atmospheric... and there isn't really a great deal of scares in there, which is what wins it for me. I don't want to be scared when I'm playing a videogame. I just dont like scary films or anything like that. So, what was your first Resident Evil game and what did you think? |
My first Resident Evil game was #1, I thought OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD THE HUNTERS.
Played them all except the discontinuity games and 5, and love them all. My favourite probably has to be Code Veronica, for the fact that it's as hard as sin, and Resi 3 for the epic (For its time) act one cliffhanger. |
I didn't enjoy the DS one very much, I guess I'm not a fan of 'mansion' games.
The GBC version was quite strange as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how this Umbrella Chronicles game turns out. |
Erm...all the handheld games are discontinuity games.
The ones you want to play are (In this order) REmake, 2, 3, 0, Code Veronica, 4. |
I do enjoy Resident Evil, despite being very bad at it. Really liked the third, quite liked the fourth, the fifth one not so much. The remake of the original was great.

Haha, I've only ever seen the t.c.m remake!! so i watched that little clip you put up and i was so disappointed that i didn't actually see then killing :P thanks anyway! you've reminded me i need to go watch it xD

I just sold RE5 and got Code Veronica. It is excellent.
And Slig 13, you'll enjoy the original. It's much better than the remake, despite the lack of on-screen gore. |

I like the first section of Umbrella Chronicles best. There's something satisfying about shooting leeches.
