Bit of a crappy trailer.In fact i wouldn't call it a trailer, its just the sounds of people shooting and screaming. Still cant wait though.

Never tried COD much before. I did enjoy Day of Defeat though.

I liked CoD 3, only because there was this one mission where you had to run across a beach with nothing but ammo. Really fun.

CoD 4 was alright but that's when i stopped playing anything CoD related. I think the series is starting to turn worse.

To be honest, most of my experience in FPS games came from two sources. Doom 1/2 and Timesplitters 2/Future Perfect. Both of those are quite iconic FPS games. I've also played Half Life and Halo 2, but I haven't got far in Halo 2 yet.

The DS version of COD:World At War was quite interesting. Even with 4 people, the 2v2 matches were quite thrilling.

Timesplitters FP is IMO not any where near as good as timesplitters 2.

I was a demon at CoD4. Gimmie an mp5 on shipment and I'll beat the person in second by 100 kills no problem.

So you're saying that I should pick it up if I can?

Because nobody has given any insight on whether or not it's worth it.

Most of the COD games are the best FPS on that particular system.
In my opinion Timesplitters FP beat Timesplitters 2 in almost every regard... however, TS2 did have a somewhat funky cartoony vibe that TFP just couldn't match up with.

TFP went into the whole 'realism' thing, which turns people off sometimes. Also, the TFP multiplayer maps sucked compared to T2. But I did enjoy the new mapmaker upgrades, and vehicles. Story mode was more involving as well.

Story mode in FP was around ten million times better, just a shame that's not what people bought it for.

COD4 was the reason I started to play COD games. Anything before that I think sucked ass because of the constant reused settings and never changing story. You've killed one Kraut you've killed em all.

Hence quite a few people were annoyed with COD:World at War, which was a bit of a step back... because of the backwards technology. Although I heard that the dog pack were used quite well, and there was a funny Zombie minigame.

I really love Counter-Strike. It's about time for a console version methinks.

There was a console version. It was bad.

EDIT: Kastere, don't pick up the 360 version. PC only. It loses a lot on the console port.

Now only was that the original Counter-Strike, it only came out for Xbox.
Online for that is probably dead now... What I mean is a proper version of Source, with decent controls. I expect a half-arsed Wii/360 version to be honest.

As mentioned in my CoD 4 post above, accurate shooters don't work on consoles.

Fun fact: CS is an intensely popular game. Where the fuck do your statistics come from?

What statistics? I merely stated the year this game was made in...

However now that you mention it, I do not understand how people can still play a game as anchient and repetitive as Counterstrike. I've had it, installed it, played it and I could not discover any fun about it and I've played my share of shooters.

I do not get the fun in starting a game, being killed by the very first bullet that hits you and then having to wait for the ENTIRE FUCKING ROUND to be over before you can play again.

And even if you do find waiting in a game enjoyable, there's hardly any fast paced combat. Blindly running to your objective will get you killed instantly and sneaking to it, looking at every possible window, every possible corner, behind every possible crate, is the only way to get there apparently. And not to mention that while you're sneaking you're likely to get stabbed in the back by someone.

All in all, I'm sure CS is enjoyable for some people who fear the gameplay mechanics of modern shooters (my kills respawn? A round lasts longer then 10 minutes? ZOMG No thanks! I can't handle not ending a round without dying!) but it's not at all for me. When I'm playing a game I like to have fun and CS is too high up on the 'serious business' ladder for me to enjoy.

So, in short I got this from that post: Havoc sucks at Counter Strike.

I've never known a round of CS last longer than two minutes, you're usually back up for the next round in seconds.

I'm sick of WWII games. Why can't the developers think of something new?

As for sucking at CS: I can play any shooter, at any time. The process of pointing a gun and clicking the mouse button is not hard to grasp. I simply do not like games where the objective is said to be to plant/disarm a bomb while you're mostly busy hugging walls and peeking around corners.

CS is the slowest shooter I've ever played and if that works for you then have at it, but there's a reason there are no slow shooters on today's game market. There's a reason the gameplay of CS has not been copied by a single other shooter.
