BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
The first details about BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams, have been announced a few days ago:
The player will take the role of the first Big Daddy ever created in Rapture, who has seemingly survived the events of the first game. As such, the Big Daddy's drill and rivet gun will be weapons that the player may use, but will overheat if used constantly. Alternatively, the player may also use plasmids, and their effects have been changed, while "upgrade trees" will provide unique ways to upgrade plasmids. Further Big Daddy abilities found in the first game, such as performing a body slam, will also be an option. As a "rogue" Big Daddy, players will attempt to capture the Little Sisters from other Big Daddies who roam Rapture. Once caught, the player will again have the option of choosing the fate of the Little Sisters. Harvesting remains a possibility in order to gain more ADAM, but rather than rescuing the Little Sister, players will instead be allowed to adopt them. With this option, Little Sisters will ride around with the player's Big Daddy, and will look for ADAM to harvest from corpses; in a manner similar to the final area of the first game, the player will then need to ensure that splicers will not harm the Little Sister as the harvesting process takes place. Rescuing, while not initially an option for the player, will become available at some point in the game. Returning features from the first game include Vita-Chambers to allow the player to regenerate, and audio diaries. In addition to the single-player story, online multiplayer will be a feature in BioShock 2. Plot: Seven years after the events of BioShock, a number of towns around the world have been reporting kidnappings of young girls by attackers described as "thin", with red lights often reported as either being worn by the attacker or spotted nearby in the sea. This attacker — the Big Sister, one of the Little Sisters from the first entry in the series who has become mechanised in a similar fashion to the Big Daddies — has become the ruler of the underwater city of Rapture; Tenenbaum, discoverer of ADAM and original creator of the Little Sisters, states that the Big Sister has begun kidnapping girls and turning them "into creatures... like her". |
I'm pretty sure that the plot and such might be an april fools joke probably.
|
I'm pretty sure on the part about the sea kinappings and the Big Sister, but beyond that...Havoc, WTF.
|
Oh, boo.
That stinks out loud. |
:
|
Oh god I hope that dosen't happen. That sounds incredibly lame.
|
Im afraid I have to agree with you there. It´s about the last thing I was hoping to see in BioShock 2.
|
Even when I first heard there was a sequel, I wasn't over keen on the idea. This makes me want it less. As much as I love Bioshock, I think that a sequel may spoil it.
Hopefully, Kastere is right. |
Oh, you never know. It may surprise us.

The biggest problem that I am having here is that I fucking hate escort missions. The only game that I ever played in which I liked these types of missions was Ico. And that game was goddamn brilliant. So, in closing: This had better be brilliant.
|
Agreed. I liked the early rumors about a prequel much more then a sequel 10 years after the original. They better work this out incredibly well or they will kill the franchise.
|
There's something in the sea.
I really like the atmosphere in their ARG teaser site. the stories seem so cool. |
I like that there was an incident in Innsmouth.
|
Okay, so I just read the GI article, and it doesn't sound as bad as Havoc's initial post made it seem.
|
Isn't that true of most of what Havoc says?

Anyone have a location for a scan of the GI article? I'd like to read it and see the screenshots so I can judge for myself.
|
Just go into your local EB/Gamestop/Software Etc and tell them that you paid for a subscription, but haven't started getting your issues yet. They'll give you one.
|
I got the magazine. I was unsure what to think. Now, I'm even more pessimistic. Fuck you and your opinions and fuck me for being so impressionable.
|
Scan them and post/email them to me please.
I live an hour away from the nearest game store and when I tried DI's suggestion he didn't believe me :( |
Then you should have just taken it. As a former Gamestop employee, let me assure you that 50+ copies of GI are thrown away as soon as the next issue comes out. It's insane that he wouldn't just give it to you.

scan that shit. |
I said it first. Get your chronological order straight, asshole.
Do it Anonyman. |
Scans are a copyright issue for forum leaders. No Scans.
|
Yo Anonyman! Type dat shizzle up!
|
Man...
I hate you guys. It's pretty much just what Havoc said, save for some pictures. You play as the first big daddy, you escort the lolis or kill the lolis, eventually you can save them, doesn't say how. Tenenbaums back, splicers are less of a threat, you get the drill and gun from first game. Also, plasmids still. Hobo, can I PM them without an infraction? Or will I have to resort to email? |
Be an enlightened despot, Hobo. Let the PMs happen.
