Lines?

I know it's a stoopid qustion buuuuuttt... Is it just me or are the lines in the backroud of the native skin bigger? I swear they are and I can't stop looking at them.

Did you use the zoom function of your browser?

Alcar...

moxco 03-05-2009 10:14 PM

Crap, I think I did. But why does that make the background out of proportion?

Nate 03-05-2009 10:36 PM

Because it zooms the background as well...

Ahh but it doesn't. With all those lines I'm not even sure the background moves when you scroll.

I've zoomed out (so everything is smaller) but the lines have got bigger.

*deletes technical answer involving aliasing and sampling rates*

That's probably because when you zoom out, it bunches the lines together. So what you're seeing as one thick line is actually two or three lines squished in to one.

Take a screenshot and post it here, if you still have questions.

I'm fairly sure it does. It's just a repeating pattern, so you can't see it.

How could that happen if the spaces between the lines are equal?

Nate 03-11-2009 06:05 PM

Because the lines are one pixel thick. If you zoom out, your monitor is not capable of showing half-pixels, so it just skips some of them. If it skips a darker line, then two blue lines will be displayed next to each other without a gap and will look like one thick line.

moxco 03-12-2009 02:40 AM

I can easily understand that. I'm not that un-nerdy.

Nate 03-12-2009 03:34 AM

Well clearly. What with it not being you who asked for a clarification.

It's all clear to me now. Thanks for the info. ;)

Lol. How'd you see that?
