Not So Bite Sized

Bah, I figure, sence I draw far more than just Oddworld, might as well make a thread for those too, right?

Here's somthing I did sometime last year as a request by someone on a roleplaying community I used to be in. Her character as a cat. Here's my little story: started it sometime in '07, worked on it for a week, stopped, finished it August of '08. You can see where I started and where I finished pretty easily.

PS: 'Shift' was my alias on that site.

Also, at the beginning of last year, we had to do a bit of photography for my art class. The assignment was: surrealistic bathroom. Our job was to take a picture of a bathroom with something in it you wouldn't expect to see. (ie- hands extending out of a toilet)

I didn't really like the assignment, but I sure did enjoy taking the pictures.

Not many people know what the She Creature is, but its a mermaid that goes on a murderous killing spree if mistreated (in a nutshell). Crappy movie, but I like the creature's design.

Alot of people here may know of Alien. I'm not particularly fond of this picture, but it's cool anyways.

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...scbrpgt2-2.png

Mothman, a mythological creature said to be "sighted" at night in West Virginia (first sighting: 1966), checking out his pimp self in the mirror.

And this one was one of my dinosaurs behind a towl rack. I find this one quite humorous and it's one of my favorites.

Just for clarification, yes, I do own all those toys. Yes, in the mothman picture, that is a little mermaid poster. Well hey, that's what happens when your mom obsesses over Disney.

Cool

awsome. surreal bathroom? that sounds sooooo fun.

Don't count on it...

Thanks guys, and this art will probably far more "Odd" than my Oddworld thread IMO. I'm just hoping people like the stuff I make.

This here is a robotic creature I made. They're designed as Security for huge incorperations and companies who don't want to risk any casualties.
(their logic: why hire someone that could die when you could hire a robot you can repair?) They have memory chips installed and cameras as their pupils, used for catching pictures of criminals and such. They also use Artificial Intellegence, being able to learn from mistakes and how to repair other bots, use their weapons and such. Unfortunately, their AI capability can backfire immensly, causing mutanies and possible personality glitches, making them feel bad about taking a life, even if neccisary.

Only 1000 exist as it stands, sence older and outdated versions are constantly breaking down and getting replaced. Until they're completely flawless they will continue in this not so eco-friendly cycle. (They run off of oil's and gasoline, because even in alternate dimensions people can't seem to get themselves to make solar powered mechanical items.)

This one in particular is R-147, he has the personality defect, being curious and occasionally envious of others bots, but he gets his job done right.

Here is a Makillay, an "alien" to the planet. What makes them so "unique" is the bulbs at the end of their tails and "tentacles". They are in the same family of two of my other creatures, the Kenekidyte and Sakktu, but I don't have any good pictures of them so you guys will have to wait to see them.

The bulbs are similar to an anglerfish's lure, creating an illuminating light to draw in prey. That bump on the top of its head is a third eye, because birds love landing on their tentacle-like ears, and they like to eat birds.

Here's a series of the same picture. The first one is both of them put together to show you guys the full picture, and the two below it are so you guys can see the detail on the creatures in the first picture.

This is a Dreppet. In a nutshell, they're an oversized Catapillar/Garbage disposal, tearing apart everything it runs into edible or not. They have 3 sets of jaws and 6 sets of teeth. Yikes. They've evolved to withstand some very powerful toxins.

And lastley, a Tripe. Haven't thought out how it works yet, but I'd assume it was some sort of experiment.

Sorry for the horrible quality.

Thank you Nate, I appriciate it. :D

An update? In my art thread? Blasphemy. Sorry about the size of the files guys, if you want me to reduce them just let me know.

I was working on auditions for a tournament on deviantart for most of June, but unfortunately I always put too much effort into what I work on and it ends up taking way longer than usual, and I missed the deadline by a couple of minutes. Damn.

Anywho, here's a couple of the character references I made especially for the tournament, Rango's just about as good as it's going to get so I'm not touching his reference anymore. Jim on the other hand I kind of sped through and am not even remotely happy with how it turned out. I have another reference, but I'm fixing it up so it's somewhat tolerable and I can display it next to Jim and Rango without it being looked down upon.

Even more details are located here.

I have yet to write out all the details for Jim, so a link to more information will have to wait.

Enjoy and let me know what you guys think. ;)

Deviantart hasn't been letting me upload my art recently, so I tried tegaki out so at least I had some place I could upload stuff.

I think I've finally gotten the hang of it.

In the event that anyone still looks at my thread, I haven't put these two pictures up yet:

Thanks guys, the comments mean a lot. :)

I've been trying for about a year now to perfect my character Danny, and I think I've finally got it. I hope to make a short animated series about him soon and post it on Newgrounds.
