Any Paintballers out there?
Just out of curiousity, does anyone here paintball? If so, where do you normally play, and are you on a team?
I used to be on a team, Vegas Unleashed, but our leader was an idiot and eventually we all just broke up. I think he's trying to get the team back together, but even if he was I'd never join it. On a normal occasion, I'll run to SC Village or Jungle Island to mess around with some friends in the scenario fields, and when I did tournaments, we used to go down to Beatty, Nevada. Unfortunately, the fire department down there got tired of some of the teams treating the town like shit and discontinued it. |
No because it fucking HURTS.
|
No but I've known some blueballers. Does that count?

Not really, but I'm sure somehow you could make it count. |

I've been a couple of times. It was fun, but the ordnance we were provided with as far too inaccurate for my tastes (I prefer laser tag: can't get much more accurate than beams of light). Plus we were all beginners and there was no leadership or plan, just flying paint balls pummelling every visible inch, mutually pinning every combatant for the duration of each game.
One of my close friends is an avid paint baller, though, and he might soon get me into it proper. |
I've done it once a while ago during a school event. It was fucking awsome. Sure it fucking hurts when you get hit but thats part of the fun IMO.
During one round of capture the flag the enemy got to our flag and we were pretty much pinned down. So in a heroic effort I ran towards the flag and ran straight past an enemy bunker of guys I could all shoot in the back. Unfortunately, while I was laughing at them someone else gave me a headshot... not joking. Just above my safety goggles, THAT fucking hurt. What I really want to try is Airsofting. Paintball with replica's of real weapons and a battle with real military precision and planning (instead of running around aimlessly in a paintball yard). In America there's even places that uses paintball claymores, grenade launchers, grenades and snipers. Fucking awsome I say. |

Havoc, one of those scenario fields is available is SC Village I believe, but only the grenades and snipers are available. Also, the bunkers in the field are crashed planes, helicopters, and some other debris. Someone shot me in the crotch once during capture the flag, now THAT fucking hurt. |
I've been once. It was fun enough, but we were only given about 10 or 15 bullets so we were finished pretty quickly

Laser tag is the only 'sport' I count myself as good at. Also, I'm normally not someone who swears very often but lasertag turns me in a sailor. I once went bush-lasertagging. We went out to this place on a hill out in the countryside with all trees and hills and gullies and shit and were given kickarse guns shaped like uzis and rifles and sniper rifles. You could only shoot headshots - each person only had one sensor, on their hat. It was brilliant to sit with the sniper rifle (which had a real scope) at one end of the field, aim up at someone 100 metres away, shoot and watch them shout out "WHAT THE FUCK" and spin around, trying to see who had shot them. Awesome. |
I go to an indoor one (seemingly the last one left, since they dropped like flies through my childhood: this one thrives on the collective market of the whole country, and possibly the neighbouring ons also). Planet Lazer. I sussed out the way the weapons function and began shooting around corners and through the floor scoring several hits with a single shot (which does wonders for your accuracy rating).

All the laser gaming places I've been at have all been terribly inaccurate. Either the sights off or the sensors are no good because I missed shots at people standing two feet away.
|
Nah, this place is pure class.

Also I didn’t realize laser tagging was for post-16-year-olds. Going as 18-year-olds we certainly got some chiding from the staff/parents/16-and-under-year-olds/those that didn’t go because they already knew it wasn’t for post-16-year-olds. |
That's not something I've ever experienced, and Planet Lazer's corporate package is rather telling. Also, the packs only really fit grown people, the younger kids will experience very interesting vibrations when they get shot. Certainly, my earliest memories of the game were rife with rewards for getting shot.

Aaaaaand... we've finally identified BM's sexuality. He's a technosexual.

So?

Never have. I'm not opposed to doing it. It just never happened.
