Abe - What do you think of him?
He is quite a funny guy, although he isn't very physically strong.
Still, who needs pure strength when you can just possess a Big Bro Slig :D I guess it was pure luck that Abe was in the Munch's Oddysee game... Do you think he will be in the other games? Or will he get a few of his own spin-offs? It would be interesting if every single game added a new hero, and by the end you'd have 5 heroes to choose from! I wonder if one of the heroes will be a Slig/Glukkon... That would be interesting. I predict an Oddworld game in either 2011/2012 depending on the success of Citizen Siege. What do you think? |
Beware ... voting for "dont like at all" is heresy. :fuzmad:
|
Abe is the greatest video game character EVER!!!!!
he better come back in a game or there will be a lot of angry and sad gamers out their ABE SHALL RETURN!!!! |
Abe is cool. I think, the way the plan of the Quintology goes is that a new hero is introduced in each game, and by the end of it they're supposed to team up? A Slig/Glukkon hero would be kinda nice, but I think they'll have a new creature every time.
|
Abe is cool, I like Abe :3 (however, I like Glukkons more, so him blowing them up does not help that)
|
abe rocks!! i love him, best character in the world!
|
I like Abe. He's funny, he's cute, he's - LOOK AT HIM - a great hero! What I like so much about him is that he isn't the stereotypical badass hero with all forms of strength and battle-ready weapons. Instead, he's the stereotypical (Yet well made) character that starts off with little to no hope, and eventually learns of purpose and TRUE courage in his somewhat dull life. All I dislike about him are his tastes in making friends (Alf ....).
If the Quintology Series continues, I have read Abe (and Munch) are to reappear and help out the third hero, who will most likely be a new species. Of coarse, that's IF the Quintology is to continue. |
I think he's awesome but I can't really explain why. I just think he's awesome for some reason.
|
Don't really like or dislike Abe. In AO, he was a pretty cool guy, but from then on, my opinion on him as a character went down hill. I highly doubt I'll ever hate him, but unless they somehow make him exactly as they did in AO, my opinion will never get better. Actually, I don't really seem to like the heros in the games so far (not counting SW). I like to play as them, but their personalities and such? Not so much.
|
I don't like him at all. The character is just a piece of crap who seems to be as stupid as possible. That kind of rubbish should not be pulled into any computer game.
Ok, I was just kidding. Seriously I think Abe rules. |
The voice and gameplay differences from AO and AE are really quite profound. I can't play AO the same way anymore, it just feels so, bare :p
|
It's much more subtle. But in no way bare.
|
Lack of quicksave hurts and theres a lot of little differences that hurt, such as the inability to order more then one mudokon at a time and the semi-annoying secret areas.
Oh well, time to get odd. |
:
AO was made a long time ago, maybe they couldn't program that many Mudokons onto a screen at once? Having to go back for the Muds may seem a little annoying, but it doesn't make the game seem as fast paced as AE. I like this. |
That’s nice, but we already have an AO vs AE thread. This is for discussing Abe and why he have a collective schoolgirl crush on him.
|
I don't... it's simply a well designed character with a great story
|
Altogether now.
DENIAL! |
I like Abe cause,i'm a sort of Abe but Human.
Oh,and i cant posses people. But i still can kill people with farting!:D |
How did Abe get employee of the month?
|
What did that have to do with anything?
I'd assume that he became employee of the month by working his ass off, but he seemed to be happy with his work so he must have just been one of those employees that doesn't mind getting their feet chewed off by a slog while feeding them or something so the Glukkons thought, "This guy is a rolemodel for all our... 'employees'" Then, ta da, employee of the month. Theory. In a nutshell. |
That's a good hypothesis, except for one little detail: he actually got employee of the year.
Quit pissing on his parade. |
Love the little blue guy! xD
Abe is my video game hero! I'm sure he'll make a return in the other games to come. :) |
:
My mistake. I wonder how long he was employee of the year before he found out what new and tastey was. |
Abe is the perfect character. I can't explain why, but he's great in just about every aspect...
|
How many video game heroes can fart on demand?
I rest my case. |
Abe is great, but if he appears in another quintology game, it'll start to get repetitive, since it feels that he was somewhat shoehorned in when the story is mainly about another character. Having him star another of his games would be pretty nice though.
|
It'd be great if in the future quintology games, Abe gets his Shrykull power at least once. If not, at least feature a very powerful move gifted to at least one of the main characters.
|
i always wanted to posses people and turn into the MIGHTY SHRYKULL!
|
Abe is awesome! Even when I started playing Abe's Oddysee at the age of 7, I thought Abe was awesome!
His really cool in the sense that even though he isn't the fastest, the strongest, or the bravest, he can still make a difference and do what's right, regardless of the risks he may face. And who doesn't think it's cool to be able to possess things and transform into god-like beasts with immense levels of power? Yeah, Abe is EPIC WIN! P.S. I'm curious to know... are we ever going to see Abe turn into the Shrykull again? The Shrykull wasn't in Munch's Oddysee and that annoyed me. |
I think I would agree with Alf. He is total clutz. Is that the right spelling. Anyways he is cool to play with. If he was smart and powerful then that would be a whole different story.
The choices above doesnt determine what I think of him. I understand where he comes from and why he is called 'Stitch Lips' Why does he have to be blue or as lorne says 'purplish-green.' From I see it he was not the chosen one, Abe just happens to be at the right place at the right time. Probably Big Face lost contact with him after AO discovering his pupil was a clutz. It is clear in the game he is blue except for FMV. Even phleg says so. :D |
