Topic Lockage
Yo
It'd be good if the authors of threads could have the option to lock them themselves. Cuts out moderating efforts (even though tis their jobs) and can stop people spamming their topics if they choose they want that. Also adds suspense to 'art' threads. Good all round. This feature is abled on another forum I visit and works really well. |
I think that (like any conversation) once it is started it is no longer yours but the intellectual property of everyone who contributed. No, I don't like this idea.
|
What if its your art and you dont want people gaining metaphorical property over your art with their opinion. Hell if they want crit, let them leave it unlocked.
Best to have the option. |
You like (or dislike) metaphors, don't you? If you don't want replies then I recommend that you don't post it on a forum with people. A forum with animals or gelatin might be better suited. Anyhow, I think you're going to have to live with it the way it is.
|
How about 'lets not be antagonistic for the sake of it' we have the option.
|
I didn't mean that to be antagonistic. Sorry if it came off that way.
You'll know if I become antagonistic. |
My bad then. I apologise for the accusation.
fine. delete this thread. |
If you don't want people to comment, go on deviantart, submit your art and make it so comments aren't allowed.
The point of forums are discussions, not for people to store their art. Also giving the members the ability to lock a thread would become quite chaotic and annoying I imagine. |
Agreed with Tnex and OANST.
If you're posting something a message board, you damn well better be ready for everyone else to chip in what they think. Kinda the point of a forum. |
The policy on this forum is that nothing is ever deleted and we hardly ever lock anything. If people could randomly lock their own threads around here then all hell would break lose. Especially because sometimes people post topics which turn out to become very popular. Giving someone the power to shut down large discussions is what we have moderators for. That's the circle of forum life.

ha ha ok, was just a suggestion :D

This is my opinion though, don't accept this as a staff consensus. |
