REPPPPP

I just have a few general questions about the reputation system:

First, how do we view all our rep? I can only see mine up to a certain date by going to the User CP, is there any way I can look at the older stuff?

Second, how is our rep level rated? I'm at level 7 right now I think, but I have way more posreps than that. What's the deal?

And third, is there any way to look at other people's rep? Or is that [it]private[/i]?

Leto 01-10-2009 06:42 PM

I think your rep power is determined by years here/postcount, but can't quite remember. Pretty sure you can't see other people's rep histories as well.

Nate 01-10-2009 07:40 PM

You can see what other people's current rep is by hovering your mouse over the green boxes in their postbit. If you want to see a listing, go to the member list and sort by rep.

Rep Power is the amount of rep given to people you award rep. When you give negrep, the person's rep is reduced by half of your Rep Power. I'm not sure how it's calculated. I'll let Alcar or Max answer that.

Is there any way we can get rid of that stupid rule for having to "spread around" rep before giving it to a person two or more times in a row?

Nate 01-11-2009 02:32 AM

Okay, I've done some research and this is how it appears to work:
  • 1 point for every year since the member signed up to OWF
  • 1 point for every 1000 posts
  • 1 point for every 100 reputation points (personally I think this should be increased somewhat)

Members must have 50 posts and 10 rep before they can give rep.
Members can give 10 reps a day

Also, I've now changed it so that you only need to rep 3 other people until you can repeat a person.

EDIT: Changed as of 24/01/2009 to 5 other people.

abe is now! 01-11-2009 05:21 AM

But I can't understand what are the green square...

Nate 01-11-2009 05:37 AM

Each green square represents up to 100 rep points. Thus if you have from 0-100 points, you'll have one; 101-200 points, you'll have two; etc. If you hover your mouse over the squares, it will tell you the exact number of points you have

Wil 01-11-2009 08:09 AM

If you have little red squares we love you more.

I am now very much informed. BUT

If you want to see a listing, go to the member list and sort by rep.

Where do I find the member list?

And also! Can anybody answer the question about seeing all of the rep you've received?

mitsur 01-11-2009 11:40 AM

Click user cp at the top bar of the owf page then click User Control Panel. It'll bring you to the default cp menu and it'll include all the rep someone has given you for one reason or another.

I spend too much time poking around my user cp. Probably trying to find a way to hack and make myself a admin.

P.S. CP in this case means 'control panel', not Captain Picard or Child Porn.

Kimon 01-11-2009 12:59 PM

That doesn't show it all, though, that's the problem. It only shows my rep up until last October, then nothing. No page 2 or anything.

Alcar 01-12-2009 04:00 AM

The amount of rep you see in the User CP is limited by a setting in vBulletin. There is no 'unlimited' option, so we have to set it to something.

Alcar...

Wil 01-12-2009 04:30 AM

Have it set to something larger?

Nate 01-12-2009 04:44 AM

Okay, I've set it to display up to 150 reps.

I should add to my previous post that I believe Alcar said that there are extra points for being a moderator and admin, but I can't work out where those are listed.

Also, I should add that I'm not actually doing any of this out of charity. I want you all to give me rep so that I can have more than OANST.

Kimon 01-12-2009 10:00 AM

Yaaay! Everything is a-ok.

Thanks you moderating administralians.

Nate 01-12-2009 03:29 PM

In case anyone wanted to know... Hobo sucks balls.

Also, Jordan is pretty great. Or at least pretty great at sucking up to me.

Jordan 01-12-2009 11:57 PM

I've been really generous lately. I give too much rep out.

moxco 01-13-2009 12:21 AM

Yuk. Industrial.

Agreed. Disappointed, Nate. Disappointed.

Now he's going to say something about what a disappointment my posts are and then I'm going to feel bad about myself and then I'm going to have a long think and then I'm going to flame the shit out of Abe Is Now to make my self feel better. So, thanks Nate. Thanks in advance, you dick.

Strike Witch 01-14-2009 06:02 PM

I use Honeybee cuz it hurts my eyes the least. Seriously, my kingdom for a neutral white background with soft blue boxes.

OANST 01-14-2009 06:12 PM

I can't figure out how to sort the members list by rep.

Edit: Nevermind. I'm a silly. I got it.

Wings of Fire 01-14-2009 06:15 PM

Member List -> Search Members -> Advanced Search -> Options -> Sort rep by descending order, keep all other options neutral.

Forum Suggestions & Help -> REPPPPP -> Add Rep for Wings of Fire.

OANST 01-14-2009 06:29 PM

Hmmm, alright. I'll give it to you. But it's grudging. This is the most grudging rep I have ever given. Can't you feel it grudge?

You have more than me.

Very convoluted. Try Member List -> Reputation
