Oddworld Tarot Project
 

Yo! :3 I'm also starting my own huge project, so if any of you are familiar with Tarot cards, you might get this. I always thought the artwork from Oddworld, as well as the nature and heavy symbolism, would be perfect for a Tarot deck. Now, this isn't meant to bring in bad feelings or anti-spiritualism or whatever. This is strictly an art project.

So what am I doing? Just making an entire deck of Tarot cards featuring Oddworld characters. It won't be an actual Tarot deck and no money would be made off it. But it will be online for everyone to view.

I am looking for anyone who would like to help me. There's over 70 cards in a Tarot deck and it'd take forever to do it alone. You need to be experienced with drawing Oddworld characters or be ready to practice a lot (you have a month to work on perfecting your skills, as I do as well). You also need to know how to work in a digital painting such as Photoshop, OpenCanvas, etc.

I'm going to start this project, whether anyone wants to help me or not, on January 1, 2009. But this month will be spent brainstorming. I need at least two other people to help out. If anyone at all is interested, please drop me a line or reply to this thread. [:

this is indeed interrresting, but I have no time, I'm sorry, school is hard atm but I guess this project will try a while so I can probably join later, but I'm not sure if I'm good enough for this anyways so uhm...well...yeah... xD

Actually, I daresay you are. But that's alright. X3 I'm going to have to do nothing but draw for a month and get the actual version of Photoshop before I get on with this thing.

Hehe. This does sound pretty cool. Different from anything that's ever been done before. I look forward to seeing the end result.

I'm afraid Wikipedia has failed to explain to me what Tarot cards are, so... What are Tarot cards?:D Sounds cool even if I don't know what it is.

They're used for things such as predicting the future and stuff.

Tarot cards are cards used in fortune telling. Dodge concept, but I'm sure your art will be great, Lacy.

Actually, originally Tarot cards were a game where only 22 out of the 74 cards were given art. The game most rfesembling it today is Happy Families, but the original rules are lost.

Im not joking, I was told about this by my dad, who happened to see a documentary on Tarot cards 2 or 3 nights ago.

I knew it was originally meant to be a game. But I'm just doing this for the art and because I think it would be fun. xD

I would love to do this actually, because I know a little about tarot cards and am interested in them! I have my own deck, but they're these store bought cards. I can draw too.
