Yea it is but at least it means they aren't done with it yet.

I want to know if Chell's story will be continued in a new Portal or in Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

I can't really imagine how the story would continue outside of the labs :S.

Easy. Chell has escaped, and the ASHPD has been introduced to the wastelands of Earth during the Combine's recent troubles with rockets and collapsing super portals.

I'm sure the plot will have something to do with the combine trying to get the portal technology from Chell while she tries to hookup with Alyx/Gordon/Klenier or someone else on the Lambda team.

I envision it starts out with her just trying to escape a Combine patrol, and a rebel force that happens to be in the area discovers her, and tells her about what's been going on, and convince Chell to try to hookup with the lambda people. Meanwhile, it all escalates as the combine figure out the potential of the ASHPD and try to capture the technology. At least, that seems a likely scenario for me. I can imagine the fun you can have with enemies, like getting them trapped in a falling loop or putting a portal on the side of a building and then dropping one right below them, so they fall like ten stories. The possibilities are limitless.

Although this seems unlikely, since the first portal seems to have emphasis on non-violent solutions. It'll be pretty lame if Chell starts using weapons other than the ASHPD.

Fun Fact : ASHPD can be interpreted as Adrian Shephard.

Edit : Just realized, the easiest solution would just be to have a second person in the Aperture Science facility testing something else.
