Abraham's won a flattering award.

Alcar...

Woo hoo! Rock and roll baby! I knew he could do it. ;)

skillya_glowi 09-25-2008 08:18 PM

I can't say I didn't see that one coming : P

Seriously though, this just goes to show that a character doesn't need huge jugs in order to be appealing. So it really is something to be proud of : )

The Arbiter is uglier then Abe... and I don't see him in the list!
And how less objective could gamedaily be?

DarKo 09-25-2008 11:46 PM

No way! Like this guy is not uglier? http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/ga...heroes/?page=8

Hell yeah! Why isn't the Arbitard on the list?

Still, he's charming enough that we wouldn't mind seeing him in a sequel.
Shows how much homework they've done.

GlukkonGluk 09-29-2008 11:07 AM

Nice to know there are people out there who still remember him. He is very, very closely associated with Oddworld... unlike a certain Stranger I could mention...

Bullet Magnet 09-29-2008 05:30 PM

I really don't get the concept of assigning attractiveness values to non-human characters. Being ugly, cute or whatever doesn't occur to me when I see an animal or alien species, and I still don't see it when someone tries to point it out to me.

E'l Scrabino 09-29-2008 08:06 PM

That's pretty much the same with me.

And i LOL'd at Nate's quote, you'd think they'd actually research the characters they put up there.

Big eyes on small creature = cute... that's pretty much it from what I've understand.

You don't consider puppies or baby elephants cute? Personally, I think baby humans (<7 or 8 months) are more alien-looking than many animals.

Leto 09-29-2008 11:17 PM

Thank you Nate, that's exactly how I feel. Young human babies are the most alien looking, ugly fucking things on the planet, maybe save a sharpe or two.

You guys want to see something interesting? Check out this album cover of Iron Maiden's "Stranger in a Strange Land". It's not Abe, but someone else who could be considered 'ugly'

Whoozat??

I don't find that cute as much as I find it very disturbing, like I'm going to wake up in the dark with one of those looking me in the face.

Baby humans have the disadvantage of being born about 11 months premature, so their bizarre appearance is excusable. As for puppies and elephants, I do not trust the motives of any creature that can shut down the rational processes of human brains so easily.
