Finally after years and years!
 

I've finally completed Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath!

After years of missing out and avoiding them so I didn't spoil anything!

I never had an XBox when it first came out but a few months ago I bought the actually games (MO/SW) cheap 'brand new' and two weeks ago I borrowed an XBox of my brother and I have been playing since!

I managed to get Angelic Quarma first time in MO, I didn't realise it was best ending till after I went on internet looking stuff up when I completed it.

The ending was shocking in Strangers Wrath! Didn't see that coming but I guess there isn't much else to do in SW but I'm gunna try get bad ending in MO now!

I'm in a similar boat to the one you were in; hopefully if they do manage to release these games over Steam, I too will complete them (yay!).

I will NEVER buy a xbox. Either steam or nothing. It's not a question of money but status, PS is WAY cooler.

Munch's Oddysee is a bit dull if I'm honest, it's not very hard. I remember seeing alot before it was actually released and seems a lot got cut. I think Sony and Microsoft really screwed Lorne Lanning but Stranger's Wrath is awsome!

For an old game I was really impressed with SW graphics, story, gameplay and everything. If Abe's the spirit, Munch is the heart then Strangers the kahunas lol!

I'm sorry, I only borrowed the console off my brother.

I only own the actual games lol, it's going back to his house when I'm done.

This is my thread to talk about my slooowness at completing SW and MO lol, and anyone else with similer story!

Ooo gave in did ya? That's the sorta thing I been avoiding all these years. I have a feeling it will be out on Steam soon but I would probably still get it, always the chance of tweaking the gfx on the PC!

How many other people have never played MO or SW?

I gave into that as soon as there was a spoiler forum pre-SW release. I knew all the Steef business before I had even played the game.

And it was post of MAX's I do believe. So yes, it wasn't at all a shocking plot twist for me.

I've never understood why people want to spoil games, films or books before they have seen them or read them.

It's supposed to be part of the mechanics of story telling to keep you guessing and to use your imagination. If you find it all out before you see it of course it's not going to be as shocking or have a point.

I really think it's because some people feel threatened by plots/complicated stories and they don't want to feel tricked or lead, so they purposely spoil it for themselves so they are ahead of everyone and know whats happening, rather then just wait and enjoy it for themselves.

It's like I knew Stranger needed Moolah for an operation but I didn't even know what Strangers "lil problem" was, I could have easily found out but I had cooked up all sorts of ideas myself and I didn't care until the movie later in the game reveiled it.

Worth the wait!

So what happens when PS (Series) runs out off money who are you going to turn to.

I actually got the feeling that Stranger was a Steef after seeing that statue that got blown up...steefs do have other characteristics besides four legs, y'know.:fuzvamp: It was kinda funny after it was confirmed for sure that Stranger was a Steef, because it made everyone else in the game look even dumber than they already did for not recognizing it sooner.:D

Does anyone else here think that 'Steef' is just 'feets' backwards?

Thanks, it's nice to know I'm not alone lol, took long enough. For an old game I think it's got great gfx and gameplay. Shame about the replay value.

I never noticed that with the "Feets" bit, I hope not lol. OWI useally have more cryptic name meanings then that. I always imagined it as being "Stag" and "Shereef" or something.

Works well with the wild west/east theme.

About the feets...I thought it was strange, but also kinda funny. I don't know the history behind the word "Steef," and this was just one idea.I guess "stag" and "sheriff" might be the root of it. Anyone else got any ideas?:fuzconf:

Congrats! They may be very different from AO and AE, and alot of people may not like them as much, but I think they're great, maybe SW just as good, despite their differences.
And I never noticed that, it makes sence, altough I always thought it was a play on the words either stag as already stated, or steed, and combined with beef (which goes into their treatement, as animals that are slaughtered every day so you tummy can be happy)

Maybe Steef was like Steak...heck, I dunno, maybe someone should ask Lorne....
It seems that the Glukkon and their relations cause alot of trouble around Oddworld XD

Hmm, that gets me wondering if the "higher" races than Gluckons are also Octigi?
Oh, and maybe it's a combo of Steak and Beef? That would make sence, altough I think the Stag and Steed also fits.
But I prefer it this way, I like guessing games. :)
