Shouldn't there be a temple for Meeches

Ever since I played AO I was always cerious about the Meeches in a way that they should have a temple like the Scrabs and Paramites.

Perhaps there is one and what would it be like? I always viewed Meeches liveing in marsy swamp like lands like the Everglades however it can be anything. I also invision a sort abandon temple for the Meeches looking like a large mound made of mud and moss piercing fog in the marsh land which was inhabited by Meeches. This Mud mound would be covered in so much over growth as if it were forgotten.

Now I feel this should be a good question to ask Lorne Lanning. Was he going to make the Meeches a sacred creature like Paramites and Scrabs? If so what was it going to be like? How was Abe going to deal with Meeches? Meeches have to be sacred because I do believe there was a cave drawing of one in Scrabania if I am not mistaking. What do you think?

Long time no see Author.

Well if you think about it all wildlife on Oddworld in considered sacred by the free roaming Native Mudokons. However, they aren't going to have a temple built for every single animal.

I believe the reason Paramites and Scrabs have their own temples is due to the fact that they are part of the mighty Shrykull.

Maybe they're only apart from it because they're extinct though.

The great meech plains are now the concrete foundations of Rupture Farms, along with any cultural relics.

I don't think Lorne intended to make them important creatures like Paramites or Scrabs, or he wouldn't have made them extinct.

They made models and working sprites, so they may have been cut for time or being superfluous, but kept as a story point that fleshes out the universe.

The meech could be held as a symbol for the inevitable cutting of features from games, to remind us that such cuts are necessary, but are not inherently a bad thing.

Very true... all ideas can't always be used.

Good to see Self Endorsement isn't going anywhere soon.

I actually thought the thread poster was right at first, but when read this, I thought 2 things: "Your absolutely right!" and "But what if the Meech tattoo made Shrykull even stronger?"

I think they made the cut in a very early stage of the game, bechause if a Meech was intended to be a sacred character where was their tattoo supposed to go? :p

And about the Meeches temple, I dont think it would me like a desert, or realy dense forest seeing as thats all Scrab and Paramite grounds. :)

Hulaabeo 10-31-2008 12:09 PM

Where would the Meeche tatoo go? On Abe's head ofcourse :3

Software Bug 10-31-2008 02:15 PM

now that would have some funny effects:P but no I dont think its a good idea :P

Honnestly, I like it the way they did it, bechause if there werent any species extinct then whats the point of destroying Rupture Farms if there isnt evidence that its dangerous for the inhabitants :p
