Hey people, I made this one a little time ago. No much details, I know I must do them, but I'm too lazzy.. :p

Wow, that's really good!

Cyph3r 08-29-2008 01:13 PM

lacks alot of details (well ALL details) as you know, i take it this is a high poly sculpt? seems abit lazy and topology is abit messed in some areas

Tidus 08-29-2008 01:19 PM

Thanks for the responses. The mesh in that image is taken directly from 3D Max with a skin detail. I know it has muscles, as I say, I'm too lazy ^^

Is not a high poly sculpt, by the way.

I have much experience in 3D Max, not in Zbrush. I like it but it's not very useful for me.

crazysteef 08-29-2008 02:20 PM

While it does lack details, its a really nice outline of a Paramite! Kudos on the sculpting; I know from experience how hard it is to get details down using a 3-D medium, which is probably why I stuck with pen and lead.:D

Ollyabe 08-29-2008 10:41 PM

I like it!! :D, Lacks a tiny bit of detail as the others have said but still much better than anything I could do!!

Tidus 08-30-2008 12:39 AM

I'm glad you like it :)

I'll post more screenshoots. Yesterday I edited it a bit. I think is okay, but I will love to know Zbrush to draw that details ;)

Thanks.

Here are them:

The mouth is in the right area, and the front legs are as well. However the back legs are a bit long, it lacks muscle and the mouth is a bit... I don't know how to explain it but... Yeah. Overall better than me, on paper, computer or anything else you can draw on.:D I'm a horrible artist.

Cyph3r 08-30-2008 06:50 AM

looks too 'bubbly' due to the massive lack of details. also seems a waste for this to be a high poly piece as theres no detail on it.

Ollyabe 08-30-2008 04:41 PM

The backlegs are a bit well, too far back (I just noticed that), but still I like it (as I said before)!! Try making somthing else or maybe editing it some more!

Bullet Magnet 08-30-2008 04:51 PM

It's funny how popular the paramite is for modelling. No other Oddworld creature gets quite the same attention.

Nice job.

It's not a high poly model.

And it's not easy to modify it. That's it, I have other projects, I can't waste all my time in this. Is not for a game, not for a commercial project, I wanted to do it. It's that.

By the way, it's like the reference used.

I have see only one more on the net. Don't know if popular but it's very funny to model and animate. The scrab it's difficult. I'll try to do one.

GlacierDragon 08-31-2008 05:30 AM

Even if it is undetailed, I still think it's good. I really wish I could do 3D modeling on the computer.

Tidus 08-31-2008 08:57 AM

Thank you.

By the way, I have made the scrab.

That's the reference image and the mesh.

Bye :D

GlacierDragon 08-31-2008 12:05 PM

That Scrab looks good. Are you going to texture these models?

scipionyx 08-31-2008 01:32 PM

I like them though, keep it up Tidus :) if you don't have anything against it: what about making an elum?

Well, don't know. When I learn how to paint in Zbrush ^^

Will try. It's more difficult, it's hard, but hey, I like doing some different models :)

Edit: I tried to do one. I did the legs and the body, the body was easy, the legs not. The foot was strange, and the head it's hard to do. I won't do it for now.

OddYouko 09-02-2008 07:11 AM

Even though they don't have much detail I really like your Paramite and Scrab models!
I can't wait to see what you make next. :)

Tidus 09-02-2008 07:54 AM

Thanks! Well I have other projects, like a 3d kitchen, a brachiosaur and a T-Rex, but that's offtopic :D

And I'll try to edit the paramite in Zbrush, like the scrab.

abe619 09-02-2008 08:50 AM

JayDee 09-02-2008 09:13 AM

Fuzzle Guy 09-02-2008 10:37 AM

I have a feeling Dancing Abe won't be the only thing to go if someone keeps posting things completely off topic.

I love these models. They look really good. It'll be interesting to see what else you can come up with :)

(I would love to see your other projects :D)

Tidus 09-03-2008 02:41 AM

Thats great work dude!
I also like the Scrab but its kinda pointless to post the same in two of your threads :p
Your gallery is nice to :)

Keep up the good work! :p

Tidus 09-14-2008 01:47 AM

Okay. As you know, I almost finished the Scrab, and I started with the Paramite. I re-sculpted it from the beginning, and this is the work in one night:

Wings of Fire 09-14-2008 02:05 AM

Wow, the skull and the legs have been so hugely improved :) really nice Tidus. I hope you get round to colouring this soon.

GlacierDragon 09-14-2008 03:10 AM

The legs and head look much better now. Good work

Tidus 09-14-2008 05:07 AM

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/9987/paramitemj1.jpg

I have improved the skull and the legs a bit. And I made the abdominal muscles (but I'm not sure if they have them).

GlacierDragon 09-14-2008 05:12 AM

Cool. What programs do you use?
