Kids banned from swimming

Oh my goodness this is to hilarious: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kU1KmEnVB3U

If a pool was anywhere nearby where I lived I would totally do this.

It's nothing out of the ordinary, and I doubt you'd go through with it.

Nate 07-21-2008 06:53 PM

HA. I love it when regional stations have to find some sort of local news. I think that sign was hilarious. If I needed to make a sign to tell people (of every colour and race) that the pool was currently closed, that's more or less what I'd make. I mean, it says "Pools Closed", not "White People Go Have Fun, Black People Stay Away". Talk about a mountain out of a molehill.

Wings of Fire 07-21-2008 06:57 PM

The irony is that a picture of a white man on that sign wouldn't even be considered racist, surely it would be discriminatory not to include peoples of different ethnicities on signs?

I'm surprised it isn't a Black person who was offended. On second thought, it is pretty funny how the white grandmother with only half-Black grand children got upset instead

Some guys at my school spread fake posters around for a Hannukah dance and they said something like "don't forget to bring your Jew fro," and they got suspended. Of course, with living in rural Pennsylvania, you won't find any Jews out here, so the whole uproar was kind of pointless in the "IT WAS OFFENSIVE TO THEM!" regard.

Nate 07-21-2008 08:32 PM

Hang on... why was there a Hannukah dance if there weren't any Jews around?

There wasn't. You know American teens these days...

Hobo 07-22-2008 01:28 AM

This should be in bits and pieces

Nate 07-22-2008 03:44 AM

Not really. Bits 'n' Pieces implies little to no discussion of the accompanying piece.

Bullet Magnet 07-22-2008 09:21 AM

As much as I hate to link to the Daily Mail... try this one if your faith in humanity can handle it.

Now that's fucking hilarious.

Wings of Fire 07-22-2008 09:26 AM

Ewww Daily Mail.
:

I am white and they are white, so I don't understand how that can make me racist.
The idiocy, it burns. And yeah, pretty funny.

Alcar 07-22-2008 09:55 AM

There has to be more behind the story than what is being reported.

Alcar...

Wings of Fire 07-22-2008 09:57 AM

Of course, it is the Daily Mail after all, their aim is to make the claim as outlandish sounding as possible.

Venks 07-22-2008 10:27 AM

What makes this so funny is that it is actually a meme from 4chan. A bunch of people from /b/ went to a game called Habbo Hotel all using black avatars with afros. They blocked the pool with their sheer numbers saying that it was closed due to AIDs. Of course they all got banned but many lulz were had. I can't believe a /b/tard printed a pic from that meme and used it on an actual pool.

Hobo 07-22-2008 11:21 AM

Wait, that Mail news story must be a fake.

I didn't see any mention of Diana McCann, Princess of Hearts.

OddjobAbe 07-22-2008 12:43 PM

This 'incident' is bullshit. And you know, that kid sounded like he had been told to say that he was upset.
As mentioned before, had it been a white person on there, it would have not been considered racist.

I have no faith in humanity anymore.
