Has anyone ordered this book from Detroit Mi? If so, could someone tell me if they cheat you or not or have had bad service because I want this book but I am unsure as to who to trust in shipping it. Thanks :)

Thus far I'm yet to hear of anyone in any part of the world who ordered the book through Ballistic and had any problems. Your other alternative is to order it through Amazon but I'm not sure how that works in terms of cost.

Oh ok cool! Um, do you know anyone that might be selling one cheaper than 50 bucks?

I got mine through Amazon, and (it was the softcover edition) it was $55 instead of the $45 on Ballistic. But that all works together if you consider S&H and all that crap. So it's not much more than the original price.

Ok just a few more questions:

1. How long did it take for you to get your book?

2. How many pages is in it?

3. Is it worth 50.00

4. Is it just a "picture book" or does it have explanations and written words? LOL stupid question I know, but I do not want to get a book with just pictures for 50.00.

4. The book is full of beautiful sentiments, descriptions, explanations, memories, and stories, just as much as it’s full of beautiful art. The words are enough to bring me to tears.

I got mine from a book shop. It cost 52 Australian bucks.
It's cheaper than paying $50 U.S. plus postage.

I got mine from Ballistic, and it's good.

How'd you get yours from a book shop? I thought they weren't on sale anyplace but the internet. :fuzconf:

Yes. It's worth it. You'll enjoy it a lot. :D

Get the leatherbound version, then get OCD about the oil on your fingers when reading it.

Everybody that I heard had it seemed to enjoy it very, very much. So I'd say: Go for it, buy it :)

Most of us here are Die hard Oddworld fans. Of course we will recommend the book. If you are a big fan, then buy it, it's wortt it, but for the average gamer, I wouldn't recommend it.

I recommend it for the average gamer.

If you're an avid Oddworld fan, I'd suggest purchasing the Limited Edition. It's pricey, but well worth it. Otherwise, it's only US$50 to grab a copy of the soft cover edition (it looks as if the hard cover edition has sold out). The quality of the images alone is worth it.

yeah i think i will by it then, the limeted eddtion one because i dont realy like paper back book, they get damaged to easyly.

all have to do get get the money.... *sob*

I hate big Hard-backs. You can't read them in bed cause the pages will get ripped by the quilt. I always have to read them at a table.

And I gotta agree with everyone else - The book is pretty awesome if you're into behind-the-scenes concept artwork and if you're interested in the way OWI used to do things as a company before they changed.

It is WORTH it!! I have bought it some time ago and it is an awesome book!! You can find there some rare stuff, that you didn't find anywhere else..

It truly is worth its price, I never saw anyone regret they had bought it.

Not sure how much it is now, but it's a huge book, and well worth the price.
Nearly all of the stuff there you won't find elsewhere.

Hellz yes its worth it, I still look at it every other day.

I bought mine in causeway bay in Hong Kong. It worth it. I like to say, you also get to see that Lorne Lanning is really fussy man. I find it funny how that he cannot draw but has a great sense of imagination. He writes comments on his artist/animinator drawings for example smaller nose, larger feet.

You get to see pictures of Hand of Odd as well and find the temple picture special.

Yes, the content is actually the same...

Except for the Limited edition, where you actually get less as you don't get the full cover artwork. :p
