Definite Facts
Seems to me that OWI's plans are as mysterious as Oddworld itself. We've got Citizen siege, Wage Wars, an Abe Movie, maybe even another game. And before that we had all this Fangus stuff and Squeek and more Munch, and before they even started making games they wanted to make the Quintology in movie form.... can i PLEASE have some definite facts?????

Search around. This board is full of questions. Your questions have probably been answered already.
I need DEFINITE facts, though. Of course, this isn't easy with OWI. But i'm sure SOMEONE around here can find some definite stuff for us to look forward to. I thought it would be a good idea 2 stockpile all the definite facts in 1 thread.

Lorne is working on four projects of his own
1) Citizen Siege, a new intellectual property to be realized as games and feature films that use the same digital backlot. There are two games planned. One of these is Wage Wars, an online multiplayer game. One of the games is meant to be released before the film due to the ‘synergy’ of the project <http://www.oddworldforums.net/showth...159#post316159>. 2) The Abe film, the first in a series of five. This one is much more on the back burner, because Lorne wants to get Citizen Siege out first to establish his name as a film director. Then he feels he will have the recognition to be assured full creative control on a film, and he wants full creative control of Oddworld <http://oddworldlibrary.net/oddblog/s...rne_and_Sherry>. 3) A ‘very strange’ episodic machinima series, not necessarily relating to Oddworld <http://features.cgsociety.org/story_...?story_id=4238>. 4) A game that is involving the collaboration of Jeff Braun, co-founder of Maxis. While both Braun <http://www.cordweekly.com/cordweekly...4&news_id=1777> and Lorne <http://gamesindustry.biz/articles/la...oddworld-title> have used the word ‘Oddworld’, they haven’t confirmed this is the setting of the game. It could be the Citizen Siege games, or something else entirely. 5) Oddworld on Steam <http://www.oddworldforums.net/showth...126#post345126>. |
What about AE/ME/SE movies?
What Meech? What's SE?
:
SE stands for Squeek's Exoddus, not Stranger's Exoddus.
Whoever said that there would be a Squeek's Exoddus?
I just think there will be one.
Well you could've at least said Squeek's Exoddus instead of SE, it can mean anything. There isn't even a Squeek's Oddysee yet, so you can't really talk about its sequel.
For the release of Abe’s Exoddus, Lorne said that each of the Quintology titles would have a bonus game, possibly several. For the longest time it was presumed each Oddysee would be followed by an Exoddus. When Meech said ‘SE’ I didn’t have to stop to think whether he meant Squeek’s Exoddus.
I was going to back this up by finding past usage of the ‘SE’ abbreviation on OWF, but I can’t find any ‘se’ that isn’t a compass direction, the country code for Sweden, part of ‘per se’, or a mistyped ‘so’, ‘see’ or ‘she’. Still, I see this as a petty point to pick up on. I imagine Jordan is right, and there will be just five films for the Quintology, combining elements of the anchor titles and any planned bonus games. |
I always figured that Lorne would make AO and AE into one movie, just with a little more streamlined story to tie them together better and make them seem like one story.
Bwahahahahahahaha! Do you people still think that the plots of the movies will be anything like the games?!
Well gee, Nate, not everyone is privy to the invisible writings.
But it is pretty evident that the plots of the games could not be translated into the film medium and make a good movie. |
Well, there is now only one man standing in the way of publishing my interview with Lorne and it's not him and it's not me.
You and Lorne shouldn’t have waited until I was in the midst of a very important piece of coursework to give the all-clear. Now quit bugging me, I'm debugging a database.
Debug faster damnit!! I must have interview!*cries*
