What Do You Think Will Munch's Exoddus Be Like?
Other then going to Ma'Spa, I think there will be creatures from the first 3 games, Abe will posess 3 new species, Munch will posess 3 new types of robots, there will be much more Glukkon factories and Vykker labs, the problem in the story will be related to both Abe and Munch, there might be some things that were canceled from MO. I also think that there might be more than 1 bonus game for MO, since so much stuff was canceled in it.

I don't think there's going to be a Munch's Exoddus, ever. If there was though...hmm...I guess the only wish I have in regards to that is for the resulting game to correspond with the vision. Munch's Oddysee was a big flop because it didn't. We all know Lorne meant it to be much, much more but the budget and deadlines were a problem, and the technology couldn't deliver. I'd like to see the soul of Oddworld in a new game.

I think ME will be released, because OWI said they haven't forgotten about Abe and Munch, and because they said they will still make Oddworld games. I also have an idea of what species Squeek is (based on what I've read).
|
We'd all like to keep that hope alive.

From what I've read, I think that Squeek will either be a Meech (someone else had that idea, so I looked at what we know, and also started thinking this) or a young form of a Meech, which will turn out to be a wild version of a Fleech. Here are the reasons:
It says in the AO manual that overlooked characters might be important (I forgot about this, but an old thread about Squeek reminded me). When AO was released, here's what everyone probably thought after seeing the intro: "Meeches became extinct, so they don't matter. I will focus on more important characters like Scrabs and Paramites." I don't think anyone cared about Fleeches either. Alf said that Squeek will be "nothing we have seen, but nothing we haven't seen". We have seen Fleeches (the Vykker-made version), but we haven't seen the wild version. "Fleech" sounds like "Meech", plus Fleeches look like worms (possibly larvae). Fleeches are low on the food chain. |
Snails evolve into quails!
Let me get this straight… Your ideas for Munch’s Exoddus are that the story will involve the main characters, the antagonists will be in it, and bits of Oddworld that we haven’t yet seen will be seen. I don’t think there ever will be a Munch’s Exoddus video game, but I think it will feature vending bombs, Fuzzles with disabilities, different coloured SpooceShrubs, and the soundtrack will be composed by Moolah Shaker. |
I want films, not games.
|
I think you have an unhealthy obsession with Meeches, I think that the next game with the Oddworld logo will be Squeek's Oddysee and I think you're taking 'Nothing we haven't seen' at face value, it's a cryptic hint and might as easily mean another enslaved or nearly extinct race.

And I don't think there will be a ME. MO failed so bad that if Lorne ever decides to make Oddworld games again, I think he'd start an entirely different story. |
I think ME would focus a lot on the different villages and cultures of Oddworld. Having to travel to Ma'Spa they'd probably visit a lot more outside areas instead of the industrial ones shown in MO.
And Squeek being a Meech? I knew Meeches would come into this topic somehow. Let's see. What kind of animal makes a Squeaky sound? A mouse or a rat. They're small. And from what I've seen, Meeches tend to be quite large, and I doubt they'd fit the name Squeek. Squeek would most probably end up being a Slurg, a Ratz or a completely new species all together. |
Hardly anyone has mentioned (as far as i know) that the thing Squeek is most likely to be it a ratz, cos they squeek. As for ME, I hope Abe is in it, and i hope they still include Gamespeak.

Munch doesn't make a munch sound. Why should Squeek make a squeak sound?
|
The name "Munch" is a reference to his gaping mouth, I believe.
|
I think if they did make Munch's Exoddus it would have a lot more stuff then Munch's Oddysee. But I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. Plus why would Squeek be in ME? He has his own game.

I never said Squeek will be in ME. And Jordan, how do you know Squeek's name gives a clue?
|
Agreed, what are you on about Jordan?
|
Well... I always had the idea that Squeek would sort of fit to his name, isn't it kind of like Onomatapoea?
|
Just like Tiny from Stranger's Wrath fit his name?

No, I wasn't. Read my previous posts in this thread, where I gave all the reasons for this.

I'm not basing my entire theory on this, only a part of it. And "Slog" sounds like "Slig" and "dog".
|
Dogs are larval slogs!
|
I decided that it's impossible for Squeek to be a Meech or a Fleech, since if Squeek was the first character Lorne Lanning thought of, he couldn't have thought of something as complex as a Meech, and Fleeches were designed by Farzad Varahramyan. Now, I think that Squeek is either a Kinto, a Mudflub. or a new species (most likely a new species).
|
If you think about all this Squeek buisness the answer is most likely a Slurg. Slurgs are probably overlooked (they're only slugs, afterall). We have seen one species of Slurg, but there's got to be loads other species and sub-species. They are really low on the food chain (Fleeches aren't since they eat Mudokons and Paramites, and probably their Glukkon owners if they weren't flushed). They use symbiosis (with Fleeches) and they SQUEEK when you step on them.
However, I find it really hard to believe that the main character, the hero of the third Quintology title, will be a small purple slug-like creature that is even more defencless than Abe and Munch. I really think that Squeek will be a species we havn't yet seen. Getting back on topic, if they ever create a bonus game for MO I hope it includes the stuff that had to be scrapped. Maybe you'll have to play as Munch and get to Ma' Spa, then pair back up with Abe and go on a search for Sam? |
Munch was never going to proceed to Ma'Spa in MO. I suspect that would have happened in a later game; either ME or later in the quintology.

I know, I was just making an example of the story line (I should have been clearer, sorry).
