Man I wish Oddworld will come back to sony, what happened?

You're new, and you wish to make topics. Please post it in the appropriate forum, link provided here.
And just as a tip for next time, people here like their threads with more specific topics, rather than pure speculation. ;) |
It might come back to Sony. MO (Munch's Oddysee) was planned for PS2, but then Oddworld Inhabitants teamed up with Microsoft. I don't think they're teamed up anymore, so Oddworld might come back to Sony.
I hope they don't go back to sony. :tard:
The PS3 is better than the 360. OWI always try to go to the most powerful system. I think they will go back to Sony.
But more people own a 360 at last count so the verdict is still out.
I wouldn't get my hopes up, considering OWI isn't focusing on games right now anyway. They've got Citizen Siege to worry about.
:
And you only think they'll go to the PS3 because you want them to. ;) I think AO and AE suited the PS1 perfectly. The best option would be for them to go multi-platform for the 360, PS3, PC, and possibly the Wii. It would allow a lot more people to buy it, and would save lots of console wars. |
Multiplatform would probably be the best. I think they learned their lesson with SW.
OWI have always developed for the console with the most power. For AO and AE it was the only console that could store the whole game on one or two storage devices. The N64 would have required multiple cartidges to include all that gameplay. For MO, they switched to the console that would permit them the highest polygon counts and the greatest number of characters per screen.
In the future, since OWI will be outsourcing all the technical development to external developers to handle all the coding and construction, I expect them to be able to release properly multi-platform for the first time. |
In any case, I suspect we'll have to wait for the next generation of consoles before we see another Oddworld game.
Yeah, I guess so, who do you think will realese the next console? Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony???
Probably they will all release one at about the same time. That's the way it tends to happen.
Yeah i suppose!
Yeah, they should be releasing them around the same time. Although I just read that Microsoft was looking into making their next generation consol tottaly just software or something strange like that..I actually didn't really read too much of it. It didn't make much sense to me.
A console cannot be just software. Software does nothing without a hardware host.
Well, Microsoft might find a way!
A way to make water stand without a jug to hold it in? I think not.
Well, you never now what's behind their curtains (except one time when I took a look i saw little oompa loompas)

well , i think multi-platform is the best.
the best thing after multi-platform would be probably pc , because pc is endless u can upgrade ur pc without buyin' a whole new system , then ps3 because ps3 i the most powerful and no more people love sony more than microsoft , so ps3 wins , more people will get ps3 and wii , better than the devilish 360. |
I'd suspect 360. Many more people own 360, and the main purpose of any of OWI is getting them out to people. Most people had a PSX as opposed to other consoles, and it was the most powerful at the time, but that might not have been the reason. Control method would be important. They may try for Wii first, sicne even more people have that, and it's cheaper. But if the control system is unusable for the type of game intended (if a game AT ALL, obviously), Xbox seems more likely due to being more popular and not as expensive. It is well known that the Xbox is more popular than PS3, regardless of which one any of you guys like more/fanboy for. If on Xbox, multiplatform with PS3 would seem likely, since it would be easier to port controls in this way than with the Wii, for obvious reasons.
I don't think all that many people really have PCs decent enough for a real decent game comparable to current gen consoles. My computer sure as hell ain't. |
The PS3 will probably be more popular when Wage Wars is being released. And it's certainly not going on the Wii.

I didn't say I know. That's just what I think.

PS3 has the most power, so they might want to go for it, but I think Lorne remembers what happened when you develop for a console that's too expensive and not enough sold.
The Wii is all over the place, I agree, but will people buy an Oddworld game on it? I'm not too sure about that (of course YOU will, but you are a fan, aren't you). I've read somewhere that for 1 Wii sold they only sold 2,5 games. The Wii is a nice console but I'm afraid it lacks power to be able to support Lorne's vision. Finally don't forget that a big part of their fanbase continued to follow microsoft even after they broke the Xclusive deal. I know I'm still playing on Xbox(360). Plus it has decent power and a good online platform, which would be good as we know Lorne wants to do some MMO lite games and perhaps episodic content. And of course they shouldn't neglect a pc release a bit later (I say later because if they release it at the same time people won't brother to buy the console versions they will simply download a cracked pc version, it's how it works). PC is forever and people that don't have the specs to play it now can still play it later, without having to buy an obsolete console (we all know people over here that buy old xboxes only to play sw and mo). Actually anything is fine to me... but I still think multiplatform with a pc release a few months later might be the best solution. But please no PS3 exclusive, I don't want to buy it. :p |

They might go for the 360 because they had MO and SW on the old xBox's.
They MUST do a multiplatform! Stop with this stupid exclusive
