Well, my XBox 360 died the other day. With Oddworld inside of it. Does anybody know if you can open up the little disk slot even if the XBox won't turn on?

Ouch... All I can suggest is to take it to a repair shop or something.

Might be possible to pull it out if you can wedge it open a little, but I think that only works for pushing disc trays back in, and I wouldn't reccommend it. Either find what's wrong with power source and fix that first, or unscrew it and remove the disc that way. I doubt it'll damage the Xbox at all. We unscrewed our PS2 once to sort it out, no problems, unless you manage something stupid like spilling coke on it.

I finally got the disk out. All I had to do was remove the faceplate and ram paperclips down every single hole. Not the safest option, but effective.
