Me want a username change!
 

*gasp* Yes, that's right, one of the veteran members of OWF wants his username changed! (And another question - Where/who do you ask to have it changed, actually? It doesn't say anywhere in the FAQs or so and I haven't been paying that much attention. . .)

Anyway, not that it matters so much 'cause the new name contains the old name, but can I have my name changed to "DarkHoodness", please?

When you Google "DarkHoodness", the only links it comes up with are to web pages that refer to me. Not even my real name does that. :) I'm known as DarkHoodness every where else (and have been since early 2006), so it'd make sense to have it as DarkHoodness here, too. :)

I know that "DarkHoodness" probably sounds sillier to have than "Dark Hood", but it actually sounds like a some sort of weird name. "Dark Hood" just seems far too generic and descriptive anyway.

DarkHoodness does indeed sound a little silly. But maybe I'll get used to it. It is only 7 YEARS, after all. You've waited an awfully long time to get it changed, DH.

It's not that drastic of a change, so I'd be willing to accept it. Deliberation must now ensue between Staff.

Originally, "Dark Hood" was taken when I tried to register an account with DeviantArt back in 2005. I quickly made up an alternative, "DarkHoodness". I liked it better somehow and it was unique while still identifying my old username, so it stuck and I now use it everywhere. OWF is the only place where I still use "Dark Hood" as a username, and I think the time has come for it to be changed, even if it's a silly username. :P But you'd have to agree, it's better than some other usernames out there. . . :S

"Dark Hood" sounds sillier, though. :P Not sure what I was thinking when I chose it eons ago. . . Like I said earlier, it's not even a name.

Such as mine. I can't even remember why I thought adding "Da Outlaw" made my username sound better. =C
But anyway, Darkhoodness does sound sort of strange. But its your choice I suppose. =D

I chose a username to last, it should serve me well unless Abdul Kalam destroys his own reputation in his old age.

I will always be MeechShrykull1029. I like my username.

General and specific rules for the future:

(1) Do not create a thread requesting a name change. Send a PM to an admin.
(2) Expect rejection. Unless you're currently sleeping with Alcar.

Dark Hood isn't sleeping with me at the moment, but we've decided to grant it.
