Videos: AO/AE Playthroughs of Beginning

Hi all.

For a while, I was searching for good videos of Oddworld being played - you know, something that really gave you a good, solid feel for what it was all about - but couldn't really find any... so, in my free time, whenever I wasn't working on all my BIGGER game project, I recorded these two playthroughs of the beginning of the first two Oddworld games (including their awesome bootup sequences and intro movies) in the hopes of satisfying that need.

Here they be:

Abe's Oddysee - Beginning Playthrough
(240mb)

Abe's Exoddus - Beginning Playthrough
(253mb)

I tried to play in a careful and fluid manner, to make it easy to watch, and hopefully entertaining for people new to Oddworld, who don't already have these two games bleeding out of their ears.

The videos run quite long (about an hour each), reaching the first major "temples", so that people can get a good dose of the Oddworld experience, and not just the first couple screens of the game, which really do it no justice.

Well, enjoy!

PS: I also have a Slig Barracks playthrough in the mills right now, to showcase some of the later parts of the game...

Very nice and all, and great job for recording them. ;) But, they're quite big files, have you considered uploading them to Youtube?

Yeah, but... 10-minute video limit. :( I put them on Veoh, but then I realized you can only watch 5 minutes on the site itself... you have to install VeohTV to see the whole things. :( I have it, but I don't know how many other people would even bother.

Bump, for those who weren't around back when I first posted this. (thread is aged, but videos are still fresh and good)

Uhhhh... that wasn't entirely necessary. If anyone new joined and wanted to watch them, they'd just use the search feature. Or find them via Google.

Nobody knows they exist. (?????)

This forum stores them and provides a way to find them if they want to. If people don't want to see playthroughs, they are not going to be convinced by you reviving this thread.
