Simple tread, who is your favourite and least favourite character(s) from the Oddworld series?
Personally, I love Abe (obviously) and The Brewmaster, such a hilarious character, the last type of persona I would have thought a glukkon to have. Quite entertaining. As for least favourite, I would have to say Munch, he just never caught me, similarly Lulu. |
Hmmm, I guess I like the glukkon trio of AE. Each of them had their own unique personalities and flaws that led in part to their demises (I wish). I also really like Abe, though the voice change disappointed me.
My least favorite characters are just Mudokons in general I guess. Most of their voices annoy me. |
There are a lot of similar threads. Anyway my favourite character is The Shrink... for ever.

Alf, every single living Slig (and dead Slig). General Dripik and V.P. Aslik. That's pretty much it.

Least favourites: Fleeches, Working mudokons, Munch, slig babes (Can't remember their name). |
I can't believe no one's said "Sekto" yet. He's the best villain since Molluck.

Sekto, Phleg and the MOM news slig are my favourite, least favourite are any and all fleeches, and if they don't count as characters then I choose The Brewmaster. |
I just mean that Sekto far exceeds all the bad guys between he and Molluck. I alluded to no direct comparison. I only wish we saw more of Molluck than we did so that we could make a fair comparison. Although Sekto had far less screen time (not including in-game sequences), he used it better than Molluck did in terms or characterisation.

Dripik, Phleg and Aslik were a great, humorous trio that showed the various sides of relatively typical Glukkons of such wealth and high rank, each with their different favored type of cigarette to smoke. Sekto certainly had a pretty evil tint to him, more so than any Glukkon purely looking for wealth. Perhaps Sekto had something against the Steef too, but that's just theory, assuming he didn't appear OTHER than cutscenes and do anything of note. Saw too little of Molluck to learn truly enough of his character.
Abe is obviously an interesting character due to being a the main, initial hero of the series (the little series we knew, anyway). Certainly far more interesting than Munch, and though Stranger's cool too, certainly not striking the same note as Abe does. |
My favorites would have to be Aslik, Dripik, the Brewmaster, Munch, and the two Vykkers from MO (Humphrey and Irwin). I have never liked Interns. NEVER.
Oh, and D. Caste Raider. I have no idea why I like him so much. I just do. |
My favorites would have to be Abe and Sekto. D. Caste Raider was pretty cool too, I wish he would've had a bigger part though.
I hate Munch. His oversized head and obnoxious voice make me want to murder him. >:C |
Director Phleg is my all time favorite Glukkon, mainly due to the boiler YTP vid, but also because he's hilarious, the way he talks is fantastic too.
I like Abe due to his good heart and being the hero but being very clumsy.;) My least favorite is the fleeches, bloody annoying D: |

I think Mullock is the winner of the evil side. Not just because of how evil he is, but because of how cool he seems to be with everything. For some reason, I always feel good when I see in the first cinematic where he says the word 'Relax'. Something about the way he says it just makes him an awesome character, even if he did get electricuted and wuss out into hiding.
I think Abe is great because he escapes Rupture Farms, then goes back to save his fellow workers! That's just a really cool thing to do, however it IS his destiny, so I'm going to say I like BigFace more. He's just like the Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) of Oddworld to me. Sekto was great. My problem with him, however, was that he wasn't as 'cool' as Mullock. He was very cool as a villain, but he didn't have the cool personality. Other than that, he gets bashed and wusses out just like Mullock, but he does it with more style, looking at the good guys in their disappointment and horror before he pisses off. What a pr*ck. So yeah, I'd say it goes: Mullock BigFace Sekto Abe Then all the rest just fall under there somewhere. If we're talking about favourite creatures, however... Scrabs for sure. |
